but surely then you could just sell your best players and then 'accidently' buy them


Perhaps you are forgetting that there are other people out there who can bid. I think it would
be fairly hard to pull off even if you "arranged" it.

If you both over bid on the player (say bidding 1.5m each on two players of 600k and 800k max value) then you would both break even on the transaction (since you're both exchanging $1.5m), but this would ensure no one else in their right mind would bid against you. That would be a clear example of how to easily arrange it, ensure no one else outbids you without putting up any of your own money, and breaking the rules.

I haven't played for very long, but I've played long enough to know that there are plenty of people that make what I would consider "out of their mind" bids.

bidding 1.5m each on two players of 600k and 800k max value


I've seen plenty of 500K bids on 200K players so I have no trouble envisioning a 1.5 m bid on a 600K player.

It would be suspicious if 2 people did it on each others players i think that was the point. If it was just a 1 way purchase it wouldn't be that suspicious.
