just all the over exposure and promoting he gets .... kinda like Lara bingle
I can't imagine any amount of exposure of Lara Bingle that would be too much!
MJ had a fellow hall of famer with him for 6 championships. Kobe didn't have a HOF for his back to back c'ships.
He had Shaq for the first three and wasn't even the best player on the team back then. Take them out and that leaves two in an era where the league was actually quite weak, no offence to the Detroit championship team but that wasn't a historically strong team. Obviously San Antonio was good but so many other teams were deeply flawed and a lot of the top players were stuck on bad teams that they could lift to good but not great.
The Lakers team did have Kobe a top 5 player in the league but you undervalue the other guys if you think that was a one man show. Gasol was probably a top 4 player for his position. Artest was a sensational defender. Bynum was a massive force when not injured. Odum was probably 2nd or 3rd best bench player in the league (Jet #1). Fisher was always steady and confident even if he had slowed and had big problems against super fast PGs. As someone said Kobe never yelled at Fisher because Fisher maybe had gone down in skills, but not in smarts, he still made the right decisions, just at times couldn't make his body match his mind. Also (forgot his name) that young SF they gave away was fantastic in the playoffs. Finally here is props for Kobe, like MJ he made the other players around him better, a criticism that LeBron and Dwight have had to endure.
When MJ retired Scottie was able to take the Bulls to the Conference Finals and losing to the Knicks
I own a #33 jersey and not a #23. Do you remember that series? One horrible reffing call from the NBA finals for a team that just had lost the best player of all time.
No doubt Pippen is better than Gasol. But is Pippen better than Gasol, Artest, Bynum, Odum and Fisher?
PS: For some reason I feel compelled to change my vote to Les Gafa.
