Personally I'm aiming for 6th place or better.

I'd prefer a higher draft pick but I'd rather not face the humiliation of going back to Div III.

Unfortunately I will not be competing each game. I just don't have the team depth nor the cash to purchase suitable starters. With the cup, it makes it more challenging to throw out a suitable lineup each game.

I actually face a Div III opponent in the cup. So I had to throw my game vs Silverbacks.

I know what u mean
Everyone goes through it
Just save until u think u gotta shot
I personally don't like the cup
This only furthers the gap and widens competitiveness between top division and low division teams
It's like oh let's throw extra 50k to the better teams
Much better if it's a league game instead

Of course, there's also the counterpoint where teams in IV and V often gleefully will play their starters 40+ minutes in both league games and then just as gleefully play the starters again, burn enthusiasm with a CT, and quite possibly take you down. Heck, teams in upper levels will sometimes CT to stay in the Cup. I can't see doing that myself until you get to the rounds where it's playoff enthusiasm rules, which is probably related to why I've never come close to those rounds. ;)

It is nice to have the extra competitive game and an extra chance to boost enthusiasm though. My bigger problem with it is that losing in the Cup early can really dick over your fan survey for a while, and with the draw being random and the fans apparently not knowing or caring about whether you lost because you fielded scrubs or because you played the #2 team in the country doesn't work well.

If we could combine my cash with your desire... we'd really have something!

Just replace it with league game and make playoffs longer while keeping the season the same length
I doubt any team gives a crap about cup games
It's gonna be a div I team winning it anyway
So it's like a bonus for those folks up there
Makes no sense

I'm aiming for a championship if I can manage to be within 1 or 2 games of fourth place by the allstar break. Otherwise I'll aim for 6th place as well and continue banking my $150k/week ;).

I dig the cup. I give it a legitimate shot every time. I made USA quarters I think in season 20. A lot of good luck as well as a pretty good D3 team. I went on to win that D3 league but it's the cup run I remember. Trying to balance winning a league with winning a cup game was really fun. It is what you make it. I dig the cup. I would rather go far in the cup this year than in the league.

Yep. Nobody's crossed 600k in salaries, at least, though at this rate that may not be true much longer.

Also from the looks of it everyone loading up is still a step behind GS Warriors. With Syroka ready to play for the Jack Rabbits this Saturday's game should be a good one. If the Rabbits win no one will be undefeated headed into inter.

Clogs vs Mammals should be another good game to watch. Thayer is not quite in shape yet and the Clogs are playing away.

As is, there are 7 teams challenging for first place in both divisions. Shaping up to be a good battle. I am predicting at least one team will get totally screwed by an injury. That's pretty much my only prediction at this point and I think its a safe bet

GS pounded me back in his D3 days. I dont think Ive done anything to change that. My game shape might not be too good this week.
