Its not tanking.
Its about evaluating the benefit vs. the cost.
I know i can beat Sharman with well spent money...but 1) i dont have the money to spend right now and two, if i did, i still have holes else where that can be exploited.
Truth be told, im not "tanking". I am Training.
You simply cant compete and train at the same time. Its nearly impossible. It takes a good 3 seasons to get a guy good enough to even PLAY in a league game regularly.
And a fourth season to get that guy goo enough to start.
Ill make that sacrifice for half a season and bulk up for the playoffs. But winning regular season games just isnt worth the cost if you want to train.
If you indeed are going to train, you have to plan on your merchandise offsetting your drove in gate receipts. Its just a reality of the game.
To win the Cup or the JBBL, you have to lose money. That simple.
So ill wait until i can do it and lose money with Japanese players.
Somebody let me a hold a no. 2 pencil cause they testin' me.

Following up on Izaman's post....
Just to be clear I am not completely tanking my team. I will be keeping two high quality players and have targeted another on the TL now. I also have a key Japanese prospect I am training. I will be working to grow the quality of these players to be invinsible while saving money for a big push in the future. I guess its a simlar approach to Izaman, less the focus specifically on local talent.

Then I guess Stunners & I will go hammer & tongs at each other for a few seasons then step aside to let you guys all go for it.
Mizik - I like our chances! 50/50.... we can go quiet & let 5/6 others go for it :D
I've simply spent too long assembling my Chinese talent & Choi is almost good enough to play BB3 v the big boys despite his low wage.
This week you can make $1.3mil (if you win the cup)....theres margin in renting more beasts Wolph, a BB3 ticket to boot (I'd give you the final as per previous discussions)
I know now that my guys will depreciate fast from age 25-28 but the top teams of the JBBL (whoever they are) should be able to operate at $1mil a week..
I guess looking forward it will be fun to contest in the coming seasons but also to be one of the chasing pack in seasons to come that can throw the occasional spanner in the works for the 'New Generation'

Lets put this one to bed...
Thanks for the congratulatory messages - I'm sure many of you just think I bought the trophy again this week...
In actual fact it was a cracking final & I enjoyed a great chat during the match with Mizik. The game was littered with fouls & with Junhans early injury, it looked as though Stunners were going to prevail... Koster racked up 4 fouls but then behaved, Quinsong came on to rack up 4 fouls in 9 mins & with Guangyao fouled out we nearly saw some lucky fans grace the court!
I think we were both surprised with the 4th quarter score that ultimately decided the contest. In the post mortam, I think we have both identified the areas we need to work on to ensure that we can keep our distance from the chasing pack for a good while longer.....
Kitakyushu at mine in week 1 next season please :D

Well done to the champion, a great victory by the true 一番.
Looks like Ding Yiu Wing flew in just in time he was close to your best player. He even does sort of fits with your theme, China still thinks Taiwan belongs to them.
You need to become a supporter again so we can see your trophies.
