Also, it was kind of nice to watch GOAT demote after CTing me twice.
Maybe his plan was to demote but I'm glad I get to spend at least another season here.

So here's my conspiracy theories on how I landed in II.1.

Reason #1
I got stuck up here because Hayward Lumberjacks the previously promoted III.4er to this league. Not only that but the past three III.4 promotees before him also promoted to this league: astral weeks, Postal, and Rougher Nation.

Intrigued?

Reason #2
I was knocked out of the cup in season 21 by the Fern Creek Clerics. (52189135). I wouldn't be surprised if either he or the Lumberjacks are my rival.

Reason #3
I've found that BB seems to try and stick teams with similar names in the same league.
Since the Myopic Marauders were here, they tried to stick me with him, but he promoted.

Skeptical? It's happened before... (http://www.buzzerbeater.com/league/9/overview.aspx?season...)

Not enough proof? Here are some others.
(http://www.buzzerbeater.com/league/10/overview.aspx) Polar Bears and Davis Bears

(http://www.buzzerbeater.com/league/16/overview.aspx) Tonado Turtles and Broken Arrow Tornadoes

(http://www.buzzerbeater.com/league/7/overview.aspx?season...) xxChicagoBullsxx and NeoBulls; Rashmonsters and Frogmonsters

(http://www.buzzerbeater.com/league/12/overview.aspx?seaso...) Tulsa Hammers and Harrisburg Hammerheads; Golden Horde, GoldenBear, and Polar Bears.

The only flaw in this theory is Old Yet Sexy Hippies and Cassville Yuck didn't end up in the same league.

I exacted some revenge for you. I wanted to lock down 3rd place, I knew I didn't have a prayer in the playoffs, and I figured he would CT me so I put in a CT myself. Turned out I was right. If he would have TIE'd, he may have won his relegation series and still be here!

I am previous DIII league mate of OYSH so there is at least a loose connection there. I miss having those stinky peace lovers in my conference...

If you are going to continue to post fantastically entertaining posts such as this for your stay here in II.1, I may have to reconsider my decision to tank this season. The Yuck is sticky icky....

Unfortunately, you're spot on that old hippies generally have a "loose" connection, so to speak.

Will see if Carlos Kenney can drop 100 on Hoosier. ;)

Christ you are going to go make find my old SF Labat. The only guy I had that could slow him down. So you'd move him to sg and try to make me guess what position Kenney would be playing.

For anybody that is interested I would be more than happy to run a weekly power rankings for the league. I would just need you to send in your top 10 every Monday by 5pm est and I will post on Tues. We can start with a preseason power ranking. For the Preseason Power Ranking please have your top 10 to me by 5pm Thursday.

Would any of you DII.1 vets like to do a writeup for your division? It would help the newbies get to know the teams and would give use something to trash talk about until game time :-)

Great 8 Outlook

The Contenders

EDH Wolves: The Wolves are a few seasons removed from their NBBA years, but look like they are the team to beat in the Great 8. Good balance across the floor with a completed arena means they probably have the cash to make some moves.

Pennsylvania Quakers: The recent NBBA demotee has been selling off some players but should have some cash to retool and compete for the Great 8 crown.

The Middle Class

Cross Chargers: My team has been the epitome of mediocrity in my 4 seasons in DII.1, never winning less than 11 games or more than 13. I feel this my best team so far but there are a couple holes that need filled (twss) before I can truly say I am a contender for the conference title. Probably a year away at best.

Hayward Lumberjacks: Very impressed by this team last season and fully expect them to be a pain in my side again this season. Selling off their most expensive player, but they should have enough horses to stick around.

Barbarian Marauders: A new face freshly promoted from the DIII league that gave us the Hayward Lumberjacks. Solid team that looks like it could avoid relegation, but the top players are getting a bit long in tooth. Promotion money may be enough to allow them to make some noise, but probably not to move far in the playoffs.

Lopez: Our other new face from DIII has a pretty expensive top 3 players and should win their fair share of games, but the more rounded teams could give them fits if their roster stays as constructed.

The Tankers

Cassville Yuck: Has stripped his roster down to likely stockpile cash and demote to DIII. Great manager and if he makes the decision to stick around, I don't doubt he will make some noise.

Fern Creek Clerics: Another team that has stripped the house to the bolts. Can be a force if he changes his mind, but looks to be demoting intentionally with the hope to bounce back to DII soon.
