The thing I like about a small nation is that all the active players know each other/talk with each other. If they combined a bunch of smaller nations in asia then I think you lose that and the Japan National bond. Kakes it harder to build and manage a national group and national programs.

Instead I think they should just change the bot promotion to be based on National rank rather than record & PD. If the ranking formula were done right (maybe as is) it should pick the team that has the best overall performance rather than just who gets the easiest schedule. If they do this then the best teams would move to D1 faster and the D1/higher divisions would be stronger.

That's actually a good idea. The most elegant solution to the problem I've seen, and an even more appropriate selection process than the one they currently have in place.

I play another online manager game (soccer), where in japanese league non-bot teams fill like to DIV.4. I play this since quit a while but I'm still stucked down there since ever. I played another game before starting in DIV.1, where due to lack of users the japanese league was fusioned with the chinese and in the end fusioned with all the rest of the *small* countries (it became the international league).

It is clear that all of the BB users who start this thing much earlier wear the crown mostly until the end (well, somewhen this game will disapear for sure anyway). As a beginner it's at least interesting trying to get to that level once, but it can be also annoying to stuck between beaters and bots for a couple of season. Anyway, this game has so much more to offer than only become nr.1. For me, (although I'm not japanese) I like the idea only playing with japanese players (and probably some of my home country), which will almost never lead me to the top 5 of BB-Japan. Trading is not an option, I have hardly time to do so.

Like you I prefer larger nations, but not too large ;). Or at least a little bit more balanced competition, without knowing already at the beginning of the match, that you will lose because the other team has players with triple or even much higher rates. That would never happen in a real life league, even there weaker teams can beat the tops sometimes (ok, i know, it's not real life here. To get a more realistic competition I would see that the DIV is cut down to one each level with the posibility (in this case) even drop to DIV.3 and fight the way back to JBBL. It's obviously that some user stop this game just shortly after the subscribe. I guess it's because they can not see any progress within some season from the start. I would like to let even the non-supporter have the possibility to number their player and chasing flags to make it more interesting for them. A pro for supporter could be then like the ability to create own dresses or changing the appearance or name of the player, like it's possible in other manager games which charge around the same membership fee yearly like BB. A junior league would be fine, too.

Or, if everybody feel annoyed about the current situation, what about everybody of us go bot and start with a completely new team, hehehe...?

Anyway, I like this game and I will play it 'til the end ;).

I'm not sure if Mixi and Ameba is the right place. Lots of youngster or housewifes there with only the passion to do some virtual gardening or chit chat about fashion and celebrities. Facebook might be a possibility, it has a growin' community in Japan. There are some Basketball teams with websites in Japan. Could be a nice option to place an advertisment banner there. There is one team established in 2010 here in Miyazaki which I support (http://www.shining-suns.com)

The crazy thing is that we only would need, let's say, 50 people out of 120 million in Japan to play this game on a more interesting basis. Unfortunately I can't bring some of my family onto this (my wife is japanese and some of my relatives are all over Japan:) because they are going the japanese way of endless studying and working with no free-time at all.

Well, I guess BB is concentrating on the leagues in countries with hunderts of user. To keep smaller countries like Japan is not much work to do for them in the database. At least I hope we won't disapear as a nation and become a league with other ones.

Some very good points by everyone and I liked what Rorufu said.

Terry Bogard and BBstAr should join NKRK, SO, MMM and Kyoto in the top 6 in division II

Our last three promotees Sharman, Fighters and Platoon are now ranked 1, 7 and 8 in Nippon.

Current D2 teams rankings are:

NKRK 11
Kyoto 13
Otaku 14
BBstAr 15
MMM 17
Baikinman 18
Terry Bogard 21
Elandstraat 263 24

A ratings promotion would be more sensible than record where the divisions are VERY uneven.

Final games are now out of the way and now we have the official BOT PROMOTION order.

The top two teams on this list that DO NOT win their league championship will get a bot promotion.

22 + 1389 Mythical Man Moth (probably will win)
20 + 1098 BBstAr (probably will lost to whichever of Kyoto Shogun, NKRK or Shikoku Otaku emerges from the Great 8)
20 + 1085 Kyoto Shogun (tough 3 way battle)
20 + 1051 Elandstraat 263 (little chance to beat Mythical Man Moth)
20 + 1200 Okayama Chon (Didn't win the conference and I think conference winner is the first tie breaker.)
20 + 923 Northern Kyushu Ramen Kings (will need to win out)
18 + 927 Shikoku Otaku (would be fine in ABBL but must beat NKRK away, KS away and BBstAr away. Tough!)

We had some debate on this last season and I'm not sure we ever settled on what is right. I think its the way you described. Others think winning the conference doesn't matter which would push Okayama Chon to #2. I guess we will know for sure once and for all in a couple weeks.

If your post is correct and if NKRK or Shikoku win II.1 then we could get 3 promotions from there. But if OC should be #2 then its 2 max.

One thing we can say for sure at this point is that MMM will be promoting. Congratulations to them!

That's probably worthy of a thread in the General section... I'm sure someone knows.
