Greetings,
I just wanted to give you an update as we prepare for our first game against Spain.
Our squad is fairly well rounded and we have some high quality specialists that we added between Saturday and Monday. The selection process was very through because we didn’t want to compromise any team’s primary goal of improving their own squad. We also balanced these selections against their own training aspects. We found a gem at the guard spot is a little raw, but should be able to lock down either one of the guard spots. With one of our best SF’s down for another 2 weeks, we added our best scoring PF. Any other players will be added in an as needed basis.

Our current ranking is 52nd in the world, down from somewhere in the 20’s a year ago. This causes us some problems because this means we are more inclined to get teams who have had better schedules and may be able to bank enthusiasm. Our bracket schedule is brutal just because we play all the teams who are ranked higher than us first, while other teams may be able to create some enthusiasm. The good news is our 19 and 20 year olds are going to be good and trained.

The first goal that needs to be accomplished is to raise our ranking. To do this we need managers to be energized in England player first positioning as much as possible. We have talent on scale with the top 20 to 30 teams, but they have to be developed. This is not a plea for help, rather a reality check that says our players can be as good as any other teams in the world, it just takes time, effort and energy

Our pool is fairly balanced which makes the chances we have to advance to the next round pretty good. We are definitely going to need some breaks to go our way. We play Spain today and it will be the Salary David (us) against the Salary Goliath (Spain). I do like our chances in this match up should we be able to hold on to the ball, stop them from shooting 3’s and get to the line. Once the match has started, I will divulge our tactics for the match. It’s important to understand we are in this for the long run and will be taking some chances to improve our positioning at every chance we get.
