It's time for the consolation tournament this season, with the advantage of hosting the next Asian Championship to be won by the best team on the continent.

It will be very difficult for Japan but sometimes with a bit of luck the impossible becomes possible.

We know our first two opponents, two selections that I know well and of which I have been manager in the past, Wales to start and France to continue.
We can say that Wales are a good draw, unlike France which is one of the best nations in the game.

We'll do our best, come on Japan!

Consolation tournement: First Game
It was the first game of this Consolation Tournement against Cymru (Wales), and it's a First win. Ok, our opponent wasn't the best team of the world but initial game is always a special game with sometimes few surprises.

11 players have been called, no realy surprise at the moment, starting 5 have been the same that last season.

Japan was clearly the better team, you have just to take a look at statistics, and you will see that Japan have been the best one everywhere, except at the rebound. We should be better in this one in particulary cause it's very important.

Next game, It's my country, France, Great team, it will be a different game and a very difficult game cause France have got strong men squad.

Come on Japan !

After the two initials games, a win over Cymru (Wales) and, no surprise, a deafeat against France, we know now our further opponents, Barbades, Pakistan, Island, Schweiz (another team I manage in the Past!), Eesti and Bahamas.

It's a good draw with 3 teams over the 85th place at the world ranking, and 5 teams lower ranked than us.
With this draw, I think Japan have a chance to go to the second round with Eesti and schweiz like key-games.

Next game, Barbades, on monday

We make a first assessment after the first 5 games in the consolation tournament, Japan is in 14th place in the standings with 4 wins for 1 defeat, it's a completely logical assessment 3 games from the end of this first round.

Defeat to France was inevitable, while wins against Wales, Pakistan and Barbados were logical.
The match against Iceland was more uncertain but the excellent form of our players tipped the balance in our favour.

We are now going to play the two most difficult matches on our calendar, starting with Switzerland and then Estonia, but we will have the advantage of receiving each time.

Rendez-vous on Mnday ... 19h00 for Japanese people

Very good results anyway. I will try once more to keep Takagi in good shape. I am happy he is becoming an important player of the NT

Yes if he is in a good game shape, he will be and Takuda? He can be descent player too.

Takuda is of course progressing well as takagi does. If you need him I will control his game shape too
