Hi guys, hope you're all having a good season. I'm looking for some opinions for the NT and since you're all the guys who voted me in you all deserve a say. As you may have noticed our 'golden generation' of players are heading towards the exit, we have several players on the roster who'll be 35/36 next season. My question to you guys is, would you rather me use the roster spots for these older guys who'll probably drop off or give the spot to younger players to encourage training? It my mean downgrading slightly for a season or two whilst we continue to train these players.

Should we try to maintain the current roster or look to integrate a few of the younger guys?

I'd love to hear your opinions, thanks guys.

Zeus.

The drop off at 36 is too much.
35 is more debatable.

36 does seem too old. Watching players drop every friday isn't fun for me and it won't be fun for you as NT manager either.

i'd say pick the best players, avoid the 36's and do you best to encourage the talent thats coming up.

Even if they don't play it would be fun to see some more of the 24/25 yo talents on the roster. especially if it increases engagement with the NT and encourages managers to nurture English talent.

These are my thoughts exactly. Well said.

Thanks guys for the comments. Since the roster allows up to 18 players and for the most part i use 10 man rotations i shall look at allowing 3/4 roster spaces for up and coming talent that may not play but are the future. Makes more sense than having these spots taken by 34+ YOs that would only play in dire cirumstances

Slightly off topic but lots of English managers may see this thread so I thought I should say that training for the u21 has made the game so much more enjoyable for me whilst in d3.

Any new/d3 managers who maybe aren't sure about the game yet, thinking of quitting or just getting bored of arena building and playing bots, should definitely consider getting involved in the NT teams, especially through training. It really does make the long, hard slog up the divisions worth it.

I totally endorse this, I chose to do this many seasons ago and the fruit of the patient endeavour cannot be underestimated!
