Does the minutes players play in the first scrimmage tomorrow impact the GS update on friday at all?

Should I be playing my starters for 48+ or should I be holding them out for injury concerns?

I think everyone goes into game 1 with respectable game shape but not 100% sure of it.

All players will have respectable game shape no matter how many minutes they play. If players pick up an injury, they will stay injured so I would recommend not sending starters to this scrimmage.

The simple answer is to just say no. Everyone is actually reset on friday. The interesting thing is whether minutes this week have any bearing on future game shape updates, since many people believe (and it should be noted; many don't) that the game shape calculation isn't based solely on the previous week's minutes. I've read that some think the calculation is actually based on three weeks' minutes, though where that comes from I can't really tell.

My personal belief (and its mostly a feeling), is that its a one week calculation, but the most important figure in the formula is the previous week's game shape, which misleads some into thinking that previous weeks' minutes have some bearing on later weeks. Therefore you would probably be safe to hold your starters out of the scrimmage, since it can't change the bearing this friday's game shape update (respectable for everyone) will have on next week's.

Having said that, I have so much faith in my own belief, that I'm actually using my starters as backups just to make up their minutes. I like to hedge my bets.

Thats an interesting theory. Hopefully Marin does another Ask a BB thread. Would love to ask this.

The other exception, IIRC, is that players transferred this week before the training update don't get reset to the default respectable, but I'd need to do a forum search for the past few seasons to find that for sure and my head already hurts.

I really would like to know if the minutes played this week will afect the GS of my players in the coming weeks (not the next one). I didn't find the definitive answer in the forums, so what I do is to play my starters 48 minutes last Saturday and 48 minutes for the rest this Thursday. So far, I only have had 1 injured player in that game in my BB history.

After long research, (I waited for today's update) I can say definitely that transferred players do get reset.
