England 143-93 Azerbaijan England 1-0

Scoring frenzy hopes to set a path for England's season.

England jetted off to the Czech Republic for their first game under new authority on Monday. Azerbaijan were the first opponents for the boys in the coming campaign and they show cased to Europe how well they can score if they put their mind to it. The extra enthusiasm definitely showed for Azerbaijan as they went toe to toe for the majority of the first quarter however fell tired with 3 minutes left allowing Harry Barker to score 7 points to end 34-26. Heading into the 2nd and Zeus' hope of running up the score fared much better with England taking the quarter 38-21 to lead 72-47 at HT. A balanced attack and selfless team basketball from every player being the main reason for the lead. England would go on to take both the remaining quarters 30-26 and 41-20 to finish strongly to open the season with a W. A well structured offence which saw an impressive 37 assists to just 6 turnovers being the highlight. At least one assist from every player impressed the coach.

Feeney Lee's Player of the Game: Luke Innes 19 Points 12 Rebounds 4 assists 9-10 FG (29 minutes)

Next Monday will see England take on Georgia. We hope England can prevail to move to 2-0. Check the weekly thread for your game recap on all things England!

Just seen that only James Gascoigne shot under 50% for the game. Now that, is impressive.

England 116-89 Georgia England 2-0

England take all four quarters to move to 2-0

England took on Georgia in game two of the season. Looking to add to an impressive first week victory Zeus was expecting nothing less than a W this week too. Once again England came up against higher enthusiasm but this was no match for yet another polished offensive game. Georgia running with three bigs in the starting lineup allowed England to pass with ease and set up numerous open shots. James Gascoigne's 8-0 run to start the 2nd quarter was the major highlight. Another impressive team performance saw no player end in the - on the +/- and 28 assists to back up 37 last week highlighted the team's ability to pass the ball. Barker and Esposto giving very efficient bench performances help England to victory. England currently top the group at 2-0 but there is still a long way to go.

Feeney Lee's Player of the Game: Luke Innes 24 points 6 rebounds 1 assist 11-15 FG (30 Minutes) Congratulations for back to back player of the games for Innes, hopefully more of those to come.

Next week England take on Macedonia for a shot at 3-0, be sure to check in next week for your weekly round up

I had said I would avoid this thread as I didn't want to sound like a bitter ex husband, but

Crunch Time FAIL. Best England win ever. Can't say more, I want to swear. LOL CT.

Amazing game, simply thrilling to watch, huge lows and huge highs right to the wire. So glad our boys pulled through and we walk away with an intensely satisfying victory. Massive shout out to Sharpling who is still a treat to have in our NT. Nice job today Zeus, so glad you decided to make it a really close game to entertain the crowd.

When I first saw this result I was like oo that was close, what happened there? But cor what a win that is mate, to win when they crunched and you TIEd is a great result, especially as they're not a bad team and they also went with a 3-2 zone. Loving Barker and Sharpling off the bench, those two have shined in the last couple of weeks. Again, great result mate, congratulations.

England 96-93 Macedonia England 3-0

England call on God like performance to take down Macedonia

In the third game of the campaign England took on Macedonia, who decided to put up a strong test for England using a crunch and 3-2 zoning. England looking to remain top of the group with a W. The game would start out in the favour of Macedonia as the extra effort was obvious, jumping out to a 27-14 lead through the first quarter. The England fans were starting to get nervous. However by HT England had managed to stick around eating into the lead by 3. Following the HT break England would continue to make in roads, taking the third quarter by 1 behind a re-energised performance off the bench for Alan Sharpling who finished 6-9 from the field. Heading into the 4th England would find themselves down by 9 with still a long way to get back into the game. They started strongly but couldn't get the stops and ended up down 12 with 7 minutes to play. What followed can only be described as God like from the boys. Innes and Mac hustled out of their skin on the boards to give England multiple second chances on the offence and slowly cut into the lead. Some turn overs and good defence gave England the opportunity to snatch the game and they did just that. Luke Innes hit back to back jumpers and a single FT from Gascoigne allowed England to move to 3-0. A thrilling encounter for all present.

Feeney Lee's Player of the Game: Luke Innes 18 points 12 rebounds 7 assists 8-15 (39 minutes) Innes deservedly taking home his third straight player of the game award, his hustle on the boards and clutch shots helped England tonight.

The hard work starts now for England, with the tougher part of their campaign coming next week starting with Greece, it won't be easy but England will hope for 4-0.

Incredible effort from the guys today, probably one of the best BB games i've ever witnessed. To pull through a crunch and 3-2 when we were playing motion was nothing short of magical. Shout out to Gully and Vecx for witnessing that game with me. Awesome win

It's a good win. We didn't really have an option but to TIE (if we're trying to qualify, which we are) and to see them claw their way to victory like that bodes well for the second half of the season. Keep up the GS everyone

England 114-106 Greece England 4-0

England take down Greece against the second crunch of the season

England took on Greece in the forth game of the season in a bid to move to 4-0 and remain undefeated. Following on from last week's win Vs a crunching Macedonia it came as no surprise to see Greece come out crunching also. Greece also predicted one GDP correctly which made this game even harder for England. In an incredibly close encounter neither team made much of a run going into HT, the lead swayed back and forth for the most part. J-Mac supplying 14 of the first half 53 for England. 53-49 to England at the half. The third saw Greece try to edge away with 24 points in the first 7 minutes of the quarter but England fought back to keep it close. The boys had the belief again that they could out last the opposition in the final quarter and they did just that. Taking the quarter 34-27 and scoring 8 of their last 9 shots to secure another very impressive victory on TIE. England never looked like throwing away their unbeaten start, and so it remains.

Feeney Lee's Player of the Game: Connor Marshall 16 points 5 rebounds 4 assists 6-10 FG (40 Minutes). Marshall gave a valiant effort today leading the way with 40 minutes. He held the opposition SF to 10-30 FG, very impressive defence earns him the honour this week.

Another great win today, another team crunching and we beat them. 4-0 is awesome. Next stop Slovensko to try make it 5-0. Let's see what we can do!

Keep up the impressive GS guys, thank you for all the support so far let's keep it up.
