Hello to all and welcome to season 31. Thought I'd start this from the very start of the tournament this season to try engage more of the community.

As for the tournament, last year didn't disappoint with division III teams knocking out EBBL opposition, games going right to the wire and decided by a single possession, a division II team reaching the semi finals and Tatatallfella regaining his crown for the third season running.

ROUND ONE SUMMARY
The first round sees 29 matchups that don't feature a BOT and the pick of the games is definitely 6th seed Sabre of Valiente heading to 11th seed, Wrose Warriors. Other highlight match ups include newly promoted EBBL team, The Myrmidons hosting II.2 side Whetstone Wizards as well as a couple division II match ups between Doncaster Hawks and Realdemardi and Berinsfield Hornets hosting Mexican Taxi Driver.

Can anyone defy Tata of a fourth consecutive cup and who will produce the first shock?
All the best to every team in the cup and in their respective conferences.

(feedback on poll would be appreciated, is it worth polling a cup?)

Definitely worth a poll. Hard to predict a winner since it often comes down to who wants to sacrifice something in the league.

I've predicted an EBBL team not mentioned. Which gives me eight chances to be right.

No option for division 3 teams? You'll be laughing on the other side of your face when I power to victory.

I thought putting an option of a division two team winning was steep so I left three, I'll make sure to edit it for next season's cup haha! All the best though.

Alas, I will probably go out in the first round, drawn against somebody 100 places above me in England.

I have, however, won the cup in a past life, but I'll keep who I was to myself to add to the mystique surrounding Shand's boys.

Good luck to everyone who actually has a chance!

ROUND ONE SUMMARY
What a fascinating start to the cup! 3 EBBL teams were knocked out in the first round, we saw games going into overtime and we also saw an overhaul of minutes from some teams to try succeed in their league and the cup.
Firstly, a massive congratulations goes out to the 111th seed in England, Fenland Foxes on beating the EBBL side, Club Deportivo San Andres, 96-84. This kind of result illustrates the magic of the cup! The other EBBL teams to depart were Sabre of Valiente who were knocked out by Wrose Warriors seeing the latter prevail by 16 points and The White Tigers whose BuzzerBeater career is coming to an end. Other results saw a strong division II team in Gwent Galacticos being knocked out by Carolina BC who has thrown up more than a few surprises in recent cup history. The Myrmidons defeated Whetstone Wizards by the score of 123-61 as well as Realdemardi and Berinsfield Hornets prevailing in the division II matchups.

The next round hasn't really thrown up any highlight matches but the pick of the games has to be M Dogs of the EBBL travelling to division II team, Streatham Sonics. Other interesting matchups is a division II clash between WTK Trail Blazers and Varnalesos as well as Gauson facing a tough trip OLYMPIACOS 1925.
Good luck to all teams involved next week.

Leagues are as follows:
EBBL (13/16)
II.1 (15/16)
II.2 (12/16)
II.3 (14/16)
II.4 (14/16)
