Hi, I'm Davide and this is my first nomination as a NT coach. On the other hand I have a long experience in BB world and I think that now I'm ready for manage a National Team as well. New Zealand is a such interesting nation with great players that I think that I can exploit to reach important goals.

Give me this possibility! Vote me!

Davide, Roteiro Basket B.C. Coach

To be honest, I don't really care about where NZ is rank. I guess (after the u21 success and seen how there was a long term plan)
My question is do you have that kind of plan for the national team or just success in short term.

I would hand the team to anyone that will help the team. I am not gonna make any excuses for my performance last 2 seasons but I don't wanna hand a team to someone that won't do any better than me in the future. Just to let you candidates know but I wish y'all good luck and we should have a decent NT team in the future since all our top players in the 30's and decreasing in skills and not many good players on he bench it's gonna be tough. Just an observation :)

I don't sure that I understand your question..
In my opinion, in every NT should play the best players, provided they game shape is good.
So I don't going to prefer young players, only because they young.
but, if the question is if I going to help to young players, that have chance to be in NT, and they age is over 21 (22-26), that need training, so the answer is yes, I will definitely ask the U21NT coach and former NT coach, and find out with then which players have the potential to reach the NT, and then I try to help to that players to training in the right way to reach the NT. (as I say in my spech, in last 7 seasons I work with U21NT of Israel as scout, so I know how to train players)..

Until age 33, the skills are not going down (or at least rarely), at the age of 33 actually skills some start to drop, but usually not significantly, aged 34+, there really is a problem. Wally Granner and BJ Edgar is only 34 in the roster right now, and Scott Downey is the only one that his age 33. so the NT is not very old..

Hi
At the beginning, I did not agree with you at all, but, now, I think that country like NZ probably need a combination of both, in the NT need to play the best players that NZ have, but I also can agree that players that have short way until they reach the level of the NT (less than 2 seasons of training for example), need to be in the NT, the others - need to be in contact with the coach of the NT and continue with their training.

*This was definitely not my original idea, but probably in the case of a country like New Zealand, that at the moment, anyway achieving 2-3 wins on the season, would be really more smart to develop the next generation, but, I do not think it would be right to neglect the current generation, so, after your questions and suggestions, I think it would be right to combine, something like 10 best players in New Zealand, plus 6 best young players in New Zealand, plus two empty places, for special cases (game shape problems, or injury to a key player, or something similar)
