As we begin the new season, Delroy Wolfpack, the defending B8 champs, top the salary column by a whopping $50k while brandishing the largest arena in the league. They will be led by the reigning MVP Al "Big Drizzle" Driscoll who has plenty of help.

Big Big Gulps and ATL Thunder have made significant offseason moves to advance their case in the Big 8. Waiting in the wings will be the ever dangerous Boots & Boys looking to avenge the 6 point heartbreaker on the road (POCTvPON) in last season's first round. Will Rat Brigade be able to stem the tide after squeaking into the first round?

Over in the G8, fresh off relegation from D3, 500 Hackers look to make an instant impact. Stacked heavy, they are already in the conversation concerning favorites to take the IV.10 title. Standing in their way will be the 2x conference runner-up IXL Sabers.

New World Order will look to get back into contention after a 1st round exit. Led by MVP runner-up Gerald Currier who will have to bear the load alone under the heavy financial burden of the 2nd highest salaries in the conference paired with a junior 6,550 capacity arena. Arkansas Kings will need to get their focus back if they are to survive the onslaught of D5 teams and avoid fighting for their D4 lives in relegation.

Delroy's cutting some dead weight but still tops the salary pack with $173k across 11 players.

As for arenas, he should enjoy the next 6 days because he's about to have the 2nd biggest when my new addition completes :P

Checking in on S27 Champion Bull Knights: Ragman has made no transfers yet this season and is 1-2 with a -36 PD. He must be stacking on his $300k promo bonus to come up later in the season.

I was going to do an earnings comparison, but I'll wait until there's an even amount of games.

Update: Soriano moves for $450k. Good for Big. For 74 TSP, that's a huge come up. I suspect the Utopic demand is driving prices up.

I guess now it can be told: Back on 7/11, one of our leagues mates, LA Saints, had made a $600k transfer for (29806121), a 22yo $2k player. I filed a cheating report that same day and it appears both LA Saints and an offending team from another league have now been locked.

For LA Saints, It looks like his $33k 33yo SF (14666124) and potentially his $17k 28yo PG (22823114) will hit waivers in another 4 weeks. FYI.

Congrats to all the allstars, especially the trainees like Garza from Big Gulps and Burkhart from Boots and Boys. There's some impressive young talent this season in the league.

You may notice the starting SF for the G8 is retired. That is LA Saint's franchise SF, Caliskan (14666124), has just hit waivers. He's an impressive build with 103 skill points. At 33yo he's aging out quick and has a massive price tag.
