Yes it does. In my entire BB career, I have played either Motion or Low Post. If the big man's DR is able to overcome the defender's OD/ID/SB, then in theory, they should be able to convert a good number of drives. According to the Game Manual, when a player drives, they are creating their own shot. Better driving creates shots more often and creates better shots on average.

On the flip side, I have a big that had atrocious DR. As a result, he doesn't take too many drives, which is probably since he knows that the odds of him making one are slim to none. Since he can't drive, he would probably pass or take a jumper/IS a bit more than if he had a decent level of DR.

Okay thanks. Is driving more important than JS or OD on a center?(If you had to choose one)

Since OD is king in BB, it is my first choice, of course :P. You don't need as much OD for a C as you might for a PF. Still, secondaries are a bonus, and the OD would help, especially in a zone. Plus, OD on a C is free.

As for JS or DR, it depends on what type of offense I'm using and what the guy's build looks like. I think I would take DR, though.

What do you mean OD is king? Is it given extra importance or something?

OD and PA are the two most important secondary skills on a center. In most offense, a majority of a center's shots comes from IS. You don't need as much JS and Dr on a center as a PF since they are not using those skills as much.

When I say OD is king, I mean that it is the most important skill in the game. There has been debate in the past few seasons on whether or not it is too powerful, but I digress :)

You want your Point Guards and Shooting Guards to have the most OD on your team. Next, your Small Forwards, then Power Forwards and Centers. As the saying goes, "Offense wins games, defense wins championships."

Here's an FYI: just because a player is listed as a Point Guard, for example, doesn't mean he has to play point guard. He could have the skill to play Shooting Guard.

Consequently why isn't it 'you don't need much OD as your opponent won't use JS and Dr much and will take a majority of his shots inside?' :)

Thank you for the tips.
By game, you mean buzzer beater right? I don't think many people who follow real life basketball consider OD to be the most important skill.

Good question. OD obviously is the main skill used to defend jump shots and 3 pointers. But it also affects offensive flow, handling, and passing of big men.

It is my understanding that when the ball is passed into the post, if there is no shot opportunity, the big will pass it out to the perimeter. If the defender has alot of OD he will make that pass out to the perimeter more difficult. If the shot clock is winding down, the big may force up bad shot that he would not otherwise take. This happens alot because many bigs have very bad passing and handling.

Having OD on all your bigs is also important for defending against outside offense. Most people that run outside offense have at least some JS on their center.
