I'm currently in 2nd place in my league with 1 loss on the season, against the undefeated team in 1st. I play him again in a couple weeks. So the question I am asking is how does the promotion work? Is it based on the regular season record or post season winning? I'm taking it easy in my league games to build up team enthusiasm. Should I crunch time this game and go all out to win, or should I save the enthusiasm for the playoffs?

Thanks.

You will be promoted if you win the playoffs, regular-season results don't matter. Furthermore, the next-best teams in your division will promote to fill in any bot team's spot in higher leagues, but they won't get the promotion bonus. Don't CT in your next game, play normal and save your enthusiasm for the playoffs:)

You can promote by winning the playoff championship or through bot promotion.

For every bot team (teams managed by computerized players) in USA IV leagues, a USA V team will promote in their place at the end of the season. The teams with the best win/loss record (highest priority) and highest point differential from any of the many USA V leagues and who didn't win the league finals will replace them.

I would go all out to win. You have plenty of time to rebuild your enthusiasm and this is a crucial game. Also you cannot bot promote unless you are first place on your side of the league which makes this game even more important.

Home court advantage is much more important in my opinion and he has Plenty of time to build his enthusiasm back up. It is only half way through the season. Also he has a good chance of bot promotion with only 1 loss if he loses in the playoffs, whereas if he loses this game, he will have no home court advantage and no chance at bot promotion due to finishing in 2nd place on his side.

Is bot promotion really worth it without the attendance boost?

The PD differential and records can change a lot between now and then, can't it? And even if he doesn't get HCA, assuming he wins out, he still has a chance for bot promotion (preferably better when in 1st place).
