It's taking a risk

to put your starting SG at reserve PG and starting SG
It's most likely that your starting SG will replace him for a random reason.

Trainee/Trainee/Trainee
Starting Sg/Backup SG/Backup SG...

They foul out when they face a missmatch so make him cover the worst player on the opponent's team

I don't think there's a solution. I used to be crazy unlucky with wonky subs (likely due to blow outs) and would complain so much. I can't vouch with certainty that I've tried this, but I'm pretty sure I'd tried everything in the past and settled on trainee/trainee/trainee at starter/backup/reserve.

Just try avoiding blow outs, maybe match your trainee on a player with a lower FT rate, and maybe avoid zone defences. May help, may not.

it is a funny one.

I do

trainee/trainee/and an other trainee

and make sure my guy who can foul out is not trained in last game so I can hope to fix his mins.

My last game I got

47 and 1 mins. So your plan will not work for 48mins. But now I swap the 2 around and cross my fingers it works. If one is a little short put them in behind my 3rd and less important trainee.
