Hi

I have some questions regarding 3-2 zone.
1)From the rules I see that using it only decreases ID not rebounding(like 1-3-1 does). My question will be how much perimeter defense increases and how much ID decreases?
Eg. I have average low at perimeter defense and average high at ID (MtM ratings). Using 3-2 zone what ratings should I expect (with approximation)?

2)If the opponent hits a lot of 3-s , this strategy limits his ability to make 3-s?Or limits his attempts from outside the arc?

3)In order to run this defense I need good OD for PG, SG and SF. The OD of all 3 has the same influence or depends on the position?

4)Is any drawback in running an outside defense strategy with an inside offense strategy?

Thanks

Thank you for the feedback.
I was asking about this 3-2 zone because the guy I am playing in the final managed to beat me in a scrimmage(played on 8th of November) where we both use our 1st team. From what i see in that game, he had a lot of 3-s hit (which made the difference in that game). So I was wandering if a 3-2 zone would help me more in cutting his offense.
In his last PO game he even used RnG which probably increases his outside shooting.
One thing i didn't understand in your post is how, in MtM, can I put my OD players on his shooters?U mean to select "PG plays defense as PG/SG" and so on for SG and SF? In this case during the entire game my PG will guard his PG/SG only ?

If u have time I would appreciate if u can look into the match up and give me your opinion.

Thank you

I also have good OD on my SF. So practically i can play MtM having my SF play defense as SF. My problem is the substitutes are not that good in OD (except for my SG). So playing MtM with alll 3 playing defense for their position(PG->PG, SG->SG, SF->SF) is like playing 3-2?

Zone defenses were created for teams who have players far inferior in defense compared to the direct opponent. It's to help reduce the mismatch so that he defender doesn't get eaten alive in each possession.

Last game , playing PON my team put up a respectable(high) rating in ID, and an average(medium) rating in OD

Ive heard all about the importance of OD, and I'm wondering, against a balanced opponent, would it benefit my team to play a 3-2, since my ID would still be able to put up an average rating and the OD would be 7-ish, which would make it harder to get the ball inside.

Thoughts? These are the tactics Im considering using in USA D.IV next season, btw just so you have a frame of reference.

Thanks for this infos.
I lost the game by 4 points but I played normal and he played CrunchTime so i guess his enthusiasm will be around ready (he TIE-ed all the games so far so i guess his enthusiasm before the match was motivated). Mine is now fanatical so by the game time it will be probably 9-10. My question is if I play CT with enthusiasm 9 on saturday, for next day game (assuming will be a 3rd game) what enthusiasm should I expect? If it drops only 1 step/day it should be 8 but I am not sure about how it works.

Thanks
