Saady sold to Turkish club

Preseason Transfer Market
3:07

French forward Insa Saady, who was a mainstay in the Bacoor Blades starting unit for three seasons, has officially left the club via transfer market following the sale of the 6'7" swingman to a Turkish side, Trabzonspor King for a price of $25000.

With the sale, speculations have ended as to Saady possibly returning to the club for one more run after days passed that no team has bidded on Saady.

Saady and Bacoor Blades management have come to terms late last season as to putting Saady into the transfer market regardless of where they end up at the end of the season.

"We accepted the bid by Trabzonspor King and their manager krockrap. The sale went smoothly." said team manager TheDogMan.

"We wanted to quicken the sale to be honest. As we wanted to focus on the draft and how we were going to handle our picks, as well as manage the roster for the incoming season." he added.

In his final interview as a Bacoor Blade moments after confirming the sale, Saady was very grateful to the squad.

"It was a sweet three seasons. For a moment there, I wanted to stay longer. But I thought it best to let them grow in their own. It was the decision and the agreement since late last season"

In his three seasons as a Bacoor Blade, he averaged 22.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 81 appearances.

Saady recently helped the Blades reach the championship round of League IV.6 last season, winning all their elimination round games before losing 0-2 in the series against The Blackout. Saady was also the runner-up in the Most Valuable Player race last season.

Blades receive promotion despite Finals loss

League III.1
3:23

A silver lining of sorts came the way of the Bacoor Blades as they were awarded a promotion to Pilipinas League III.1. This promotion came despite the fact that the Blades lost 0-2 in the Finals against The Blackout, who were promoted to League III.3.

"This is good news, albeit weird. But this was the goal and is the goal of teams in lower divisions." said team manager TheDogMan. "Every team wants to be promoted to the highest division in the country, the PPL. Unfortunately, only 16 teams are allowed there a season. This is the next step towards that goal."

The Pilipinas League III.1, who recently crowned a champion and awarded promotion to the Cavite Aces, will see 4 new teams to replace the relegated teams from last season, including the Blades.

MADam WETne$$..., gankDAWako013, Bellikoi are the other three teams who will also see action in the League.

Blades revamp for incoming season

League III.1 Preseason
2:35

The Bacoor Blades, despite their promotion to Division III, are making revamps to their lineup in preparation for the upcoming Season 21 of League III.1.

"We have to make a revamp and we have to do it quicker than we expected." said team manager TheDogMan. "We just lost our key player from last season in Insa Saady, so we need to bolster the team in order to at least compete this season."

"We are at a higher league, so it is going to be a tough road from here on in." said forward Kelly Paul, who is expected to carry some of the load that do-it-all forward Saady will leave behind.

The Blades retained the services of all but one player in Insa Saady from the team that went 22-0 in last season's League IV.6 elimination round. And they also drafted 18 year old Laurence Lacambra to bolster their frontline rotation.

Blades put more players on transfers

Pre-season Transfer Market
20:04

Just days after shipping out main man Insa Saady to a Turkish ballclub, the Bacoor Blades have once again put two of their players on the transfer market.

Backup forwards Crisostomo Escolar and Gustavo Canora were put on the market by the Blades citing rotational issues with the addition of players from the transfer market as well as the drafting of 18 year old prospect Laurence Lacambra, which crowded the power forward position that already includes mainstay Kelly Paul, Utak Peregil and the aforementioned Lacambra.

With the addition of swingmen Pedro Horcasitas and Marcos Paulo Petry, the Blades became loaded at the wings, leaving a possibility of Escolar not having playing time.

“We cannot assure those guys playing time on a consistent basis with our given situation.” Said team manager TheDogMan. “A lot of things were bound to change with Insa’s departure. Last season, we were a solid team rotations-wise. But now we have to adjust and adjust quickly.”

Canora, who was a key role player off the bench last season during the Blades’ immaculate run to the Finals, admitted his sad position after hearing the news.

“It’s difficult to leave a team like this.” Said Canora. “We won and lost together. They were my first companions as I entered the pros. Although I understand that this is part of the job, I admit, it feels a little bad.”

Escolar had a few things to say as well to the team that he began his career with. “I know I could have done more for the team. I thought I could still stay and at least work my way up the rotation. But this is management’s decision and I should accept it. Though same with Gustavo, this is not particularly fun.”

Blades lose season opener

Fhrytans @ Bacoor Blades
Regular Season Game (Elimination Round)
3:55

The Bacoor Blades tried to put up a fight but lost grip in the fourth quarter as they succumb to Fhrytans in their first League Game assignment in Season 21 of League III.1.

Fhrytans' 7-footer Olegario Arias flexed his muscle underneath as he posted 33 points and 13 rebounds, totally outclassing his Blades counterpart Eugenio Genco, who was able to muster 11 points and 13 rebounds of his own before fouling out after 39 minutes of action.

New acquisitions Pedro Horcasitas and Marcos Paulo Petry had decent debuts for the Blades, as they carried the scoring load together with point guard Mark Louis Hugos, as they scored a combined 61 points while Kelly Paul scored 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, all in a losing effort at home.

The Blades will have their next game on the road as they face Tribe of Arms on August 28.

"Things go uphill from here" says Blades manager

After embarking on an immaculate elimination round, the Bacoor Blades were on cloud nine. Until they fell back to reality after losing two straight games in the Finals of last season's League IV.6. And a midst the fact that they were awarded a promotion to Divison III, The reality sank in that they were going to have to work their way up again as they received their first elimination round loss in a League Game since their second round defeat at the hands of The Dynasand Midges, 81-72, two seasons ago.

"All we want to do is to be competitive." says team manager TheDogMan. "It's not as if we were expecting to duplicate what we did last season. It was with a different league. No disrespect to the teams and manager from our previous League IV.6, but the competition tends to increase as the talent level increases every division. And that is just logical." the mentor added.

"That being said, things go uphill from here. And all we have to do is be ready to make the climb."

Blades ships Canora to German team

Transfer Market
3:59

Team manager TheDogMan confirmed the acceptance of the bid of German squad JokerAllstars to acquire the services of power forward Gustavo Canora for $150,000.

Canora did not play the season opener for the Bacoor Blades as they hosted Fhrytans last August 25. Just a day before the contest, Canora, along with forward Crisostomo Escolar, were put on transfers by the team to give room for the arrival of new acquisitions Marcos Paulo Petry and Pedro Horcasitas, as well as the addition of draftee Laurence Lacambra, who shall serve as the team's new project.

"Canora did well as our project bigman. But we were particularly excited about the potential that Lacambra had that we never saw with Gustavo. We made it clear to him our intention to give the rookie more playing and training time so as to accommodate his early development." said the Blades mentor.

"It just came to a point that we cannot promise playing time for the both of them. They play the same position, they are both young and need a lot of time to let them grow. Besides, we have already an established starter in Kelly Paul."

Prior to the sale of Canora, the Blades' frontline was becoming a problem rotation-wise as starter Kelly Paul, Utak Peregil, Eugenio Genco were with Lacambra and Canora were to compete for minutes on the floor.

"Gustavo was a key cog for us last season. we hope that his new manager will be able to continue his training especially on his inside-outside game that we wanted him to emulate from Kelly Paul.
