Thanks for the translation höfðingi :-)
1. If chosen, will you keep on being coach after this first two seasons?
I've kept my passion for the game since season 5, and look forward to discover the new evolutions that will be put in place by the new development team once technical issues will be fixed.
As you confessed, lot of things can happen in 2 seasons. I cannot say if I will be candidate in 2 seasons if I'm elected, however I'm a man of integrity, and will make sure any successor will take over in good condition even if he beat me during the election!
2. Will you be alone with all your scouting and other stuff around the team? or do you have someone that will work with you?
I prepared myself to do all the scouting, communications and press releases by myself. I have some tools to help me not being overwhelmed by the workload, but of course, I will welcome anyone that want to help the team on regular basis, or just contribute at times.
3. What do you know about the Icelandic team? the strength of the team in previous seasons? what the team has achieved? what have been done of the previous managers and is there anything that you will continue from there work?
Iceland has a tradition of strong inside players, and last year U21 team and new U21 generations will be no exception to that. My feeling on the new generation is that his development is late compared to the mark set by the current 22 year old generation. Iceland has good 20-21yo inside players to develop, but important roadworks have to be launched regarding the Point Guard, Shooting Guard and Small Forward positions.
We have to be optimistic and trust in a bright future for Iceland, but we have to be lucid about current situation.
Current lack of great talents on the backcourt positions could prevent the team to compete with world mid-level teams for this season and the next one.
If we cannot dominate on this positions, we have to build a strategy to be able to contain opponents on the backcourt. With the help of player managers, I will focus on developing outside defense, dribbling to limit turnovers, and passing to help inside players shoot in good conditions. We can realisticly plan that strategy could begin to bear fruit in 2 seasons.
4. is your relationship good with our NT manager?
I should better say I don't know Jova when I look to his low popularity level :-) But of course, a management role is difficult, and you sometimes have to stick to your decisions when you are intimely convinced they are the best ones to take, even if they are impopular, or you don't get immediate results.
I know Jova for one season as we share the same ligue, and we are in good terms with each other. I do think we would be of mutual help if the Icelandic community give us their trust.
I will be glad to answer to other questions you may have. Sorry not being able to participate to the debate in your mother tongue!
