U21 Singapore prepare for Consolation Tournament, appoint Senior NT for Scrimmage.

As an awareness to face the European and American U21 team, SGP U21 quicky nab a best benchmark to see how far their team can go : a matchup with the SGP NT.

U21 team that will led by Lim Shi Xin and Peh Jian Long, will face the like of opponent that could damage them at most, Fang Shuang Xiang from the Senior NT. On backguard position, two SGP best perimeter defender Abd Rauf Ishak and Ling Feng Kong will also being tested against the seniors, Yeo Tse Hui and Abdul Samak bin Ishak.

Although the result is much expected to be a lopsided loss, but the manager stated that they will see the result from the different view.

"We don't have much time to warm up for Consolation Tournament," said the manager Bigben. "Unlike the Asian Tournament, the Consolation is always tougher. By matching up with the much Senior player, i expect the kids to themselves to their limit, and we'll see what happen next."

The friendly match will be held at Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), scheduled on next Monday at 6pm.

woooot!! peh is one of the main tower in U21.. Members of flyersonic will be there to support him.. hopefully he dun lose confidence against FSX.. :) and his successor Li Po Chu will be watching too :)

Singapore NT vs Singapore U21 = 116 - 85 FT

At least, U21 managers managed to see the chance on how bad his pupils can perform. Good news is, that was only a scrimmage game.

U21 team were enjoying their brief lead on 1st quarter 19-14, before a series of turnover cost them to trail 20-29 at the end of 1st quarter. And things get worse on 2nd quarter, where Lim Shi Xin missed a dunk attempt over Wang Xiangjia, and get dunked by Wang on the other end. Aggresiveness by Wang combined with blue collar work by Huo Xiang Song result out on 57-38 halftime lead.

At 3rd quarter, U21 trying to keep pace behind Peh Jiang Long hot hands, but Senior NT bigman keep working, dominated the boards and hardcore defense. Everytime U21 made a key baskets, the ball most likely will be stolen back for a fastbreak by NT team. Trailed by 23 after 3 quarter, U21 run out of gas and with FSX on court for warm his leg, NT led become 36 points after the horn sounded.

Yip Kum Jian led NT Seniors with 18pts, Huo Xiang Song & Wang Xiangjia both have double double, with 10pts and 11rebs. U21 graduatee, Ang Kok Loong has 13pts, demonstrating the killer swishing 3pointer that was rarely shown on last season U21 as he was out of shape all season.

Loh Leong Tong led U21 with 26pts and 8rebs, Peh Jian Long overcame his poor 1st half with strong 2nd half, ended with his own double-double with 15pts 10rebs and 3blk. Nightmare of the game actually goes to Lim Shi Xin and Abdul Rauf Ishak. LSX guy only has 8pts and 3rebs, while Ishak, commited 4 turnovers and was on his lowest when Ang Kok Loong hit the dagger from the top of the arc, right over his outstretched arms.

"They will be fine," said Bigben. "If they don't face the most hardworking, fastest, wickiest opponent, How can they learn?"

With tonight result, U21 staff will review again to determine the U21 top 12 candidate for next week consolation tournament.
