Most of the draftees with < starter potential get thrown away directly after the draft.
So 1/3 (if it's even) of draft generated players die and get wasted.
Wouldn't it be merciful to let all players develop without capping until they're 20?
The little difference there is now between bench warmer, role player and 6th man will still be apparent, because not every one can train 6th man to cap in two seasons (but some can).
What it might do (besides giving some value instead of none to sub starter potential draftees) is decrease TL prices of draftees with higher potential. Many MVPs get bought by new teams which thus overspend and go bot, so even higher potential players get wasted.
What do you think of this suggestion? It shouldn't be too hard to implement, should it?

I understand where you´re coming from, but indeed most of the players of a draft (in real) have so limited potential, that they end up as end-of-the-bench or garbage-time guys nevertheless.

Some guys with low potential can actually be worthwhile. My 2nd round pick with 6th man potential sold for 150000 and he was also 19.

That number is way too low. Just think of the garbage data that is generated by creating rookies for bot leagues. I guess the number of draftees that are really usable and trained in this game is less than 10% of total draft population.

end-of-the-bench or garbage-time isn't the same as Walther to your head straight after the draft you put your self into :}

Well, don't you think it would be mettagood then? And it's not a big concession.
But to know that 6 role players can take you out of DV in two seasons is encouraging, no?

Hide the potential until players are 20!! It will save and create many decent players.

It is so much less than 1/3 that get training. From my league's draft last season I doubt if even 5 of the draftees are geting trained.

I don't like the idea of hiding potential completely, but I do like the idea of widening the margin of error. Then with every season of training the possible potential range becomes smaller and more accurate.
That would be a pretty big change but I'd love to see it explored for feasibility at least.
