I'm new to Buzzerbeater and was reading about D.IV. I'm in D.V and was wondering how to size up the teams in my league. What should I be looking for? What kind of things are signs of a D.V contender? Etc...
Thank you for any input or help you can give.
Good Luck to those left in Cup!

We have a lot of great outside shooters. Unfortunately, we play all our games indoors.

I believe salary is usually a good way to size up a team, but be sure to also look at game shape. If their GS is bad, they will significantly underperform.

Definitely look at gameshape. Many of the managers in D.V don't know how to manage gameshape. Thus, even if they have spent a bunch of their money on buying players, they won't perform well. Sorting on DMI can give you a rough idea of how players might perform, as it combines current skills (reflecting training given since start of season when salary was last set) and gameshape.

Other signs I think that managers are likely to be tough competition are people who are managing enthusiasm (check for relative effort in the game recaps), as those teams will have an advantage come playoff time.

Then I'd look at how often people log in. You can tell teams that are headed for bot-dom that way. If you're set to play one of those teams after they go bot, then you might be able to change your training plans and pencil in a win in that game.

I wouldn't have thought to look at game shape I was only thinking about salary thank you. how do you mean check for relative effort do you mean the "team put in equal effort" thing in box score? I think I may be able to take on the #1 team in the big 8 in my league they haven't been on in a month but still win playing normal. a team like me played them saturday and lost even though they played crunch time

So my next matchup has been offline since 4/30, but has better players then me, and winning games (8-3). His last game he won by 11 to a team that "put in more effort then he did". All his players are 6-9 in GS. Does that mean I have no chance of winning if I play normal, and should just play TIE? He is 1st place in Big eight while I am 6th in great eight and a 1 game behind 3rd 4th and 5th. Thoughts?

If I end up buying a player I want to buy someone who I won't be training right? Like train bigs buy guards or vise versa?

thanks man I have been reading forums for the last two days lol. I figure I have 16 seasons of ketchup to do, and the forum users probably know best so. I try to read as much as possible. Plus, I have a paper I really don't wanna write due the 3rd so any distraction is welcome haha.

Thanks again I appreciate the tips and any advice.
