The United States U21 team will play Bolivia tomorrow in the second game of the first round of the Americas tournament. Coach Rambo VT had a formal announcement the other day, saying, "I have decided that I am going to be taking my coaching talents to the USA U21 team!"
"But coach," a reporter said, "You already won the election like three weeks ago. And you already had your first two games."
Confused, Rambo blurted out, "Oh yeah. My bad. I accidentally printed the wrong speech. So, I meant to say the team has selected two new assistant coaches: BFiddy, and DarkJester11. Well, I had a whole speech planned out, but obviously that's not happening. So yeah, see you guys after the game..."
Since things in the mid-week press conference did not go as planned, Rambo went to the airport to greet the new assistant coaches. DarkJester arrived before BFiddy at the airport, and that was enough for Rambo, who took DarkJester back to the hotel and got him situated there, completely forgetting about BFiddy. Meanwhile, BFiddy arrived at the airport with no one there to greet him or get him back to the hotel. Having to get a cab and direct the driver (who only spoke Spanish) to the hotel, they got lost. Since BFiddy and the driver could not speak the language of the other, they had serious issues. BFiddy had no clue where he was, and the driver had no clue where he wanted to go. BFiddy finally called up Rambo, and resolved the issue, but not after a lot of yelling at each other.
At the first practice with the newly hired assistant coaches, Rambo decided that everyone had to run their usual wind-sprints, but after Hubert Douglas slacking off, he made the whole team run 5 miles. For no reason, Douglas just turned around and clocked Ben Jack right in the face, giving him a concussion. Jack will be out for at least two weeks with that concussion, hampering the U21 team for the next two weeks. Rambo then suspended Douglas, but after the good Samaritan act he did by hand-washing and drying the practice jerseys for the players, Rambo lifted the suspension. However, he did say Douglas might not play much, because he sucks.
Finally, unlike previous reports, Rambo decided not to call up Perry Gipson Jr. His rationale: "I want to protect my godson until he is ready to play with the big boys. For that, Perry Jr. will not be called up until Season 19, when he is 20. (He is 17 right now.) With that, Rambo and the guys were ready to go vs. Bolivia.
Game is on Monday, May 16th, at 6:30 ET, 3:30 PT. Join the discussion for the NT and U21 on the offsite forum
