Ok so season 4 has begun so that means votes need to be handed out! Naker and myself are the commissioners of the East so apparently that involves us organising the MVP voting....How we are going to do it is i will do the MVP writeups 1 week he will do the next and so on! Monkey will be compiling the leaderboard of the MVP votes.

Im a MVP voting rookie/fishbowl PL rookie so dont be too harsh on me or ill cut you. Now lets get to business:

Cowboys From Hell vs. Northcote Slammers 89 - 71(35545781)

In a battle of 2 teams both playing motion and MonM the Cowboys showed they were the better team dominating the 1st and 3rd quarters before losing the last when their bench came on.

3. A. Villain (Cowboys)- Villain was the standout performer for the winner scoring 28 points on 11-16 shooting in only 31 minutes before being rested when the game was over. Also chipped in with 4 steals.

2. P. Masetti (Northcote)- Masetti showed that after being a player that could draw votes in the Outcast league he could do the same in the increased pressure of the Fishbowl. Masetti was easily the best for Northcote scoring 31 points on 13-20 shooting in 45min court time. He also grabbed 9 boards playing at the 4 spot.

1. F. Banks (Cowboys)- Franklin was the best of the rest. In 30min court time after being rested when the cowboys were dominating Banks still accumulated 18 points and 2 steals at SG.

Chelsea Seagulls vs. Chumunga 79 - 85 (35545779)

In this battle of former league rivals Chumunga just scraped over the line in a see-sawing match. With Chelsea's centre Sherwin fouling out after 28min guarding the Chumunga tall timber rebounds probably won this game with chumunga dominating the boards 60-37.

3. B. Kužel (Chumunga)- Boris was the dominating presence in this game controlling the key with 29 points on 11-17 shooting while dragging in 21 boards for a very solid double double.

2. O. Ðuričko (Chelsea)- Oliver showed that he will be giving outside defenders nightmares this private league season hitting 11-25 shots with 5 of these being 3's. Also had 2 steals and 2 blocks to be chelsea's best on the night

1. S. Sultan (Chumunga)- The sultanator, joint runner up for the Outcasts MVP last season takes the 1 vote here. His mate Bessarab can consider himself unlucky to be beaten to this vote but Sultan had a huge triple double at the small forward spot consisting of 15 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Only downer on his performance was 5 turnovers but the triple double got him over the line on this occasion.

CROCKERS vs. JW City Bulls 100 - 87 (35545782)

The Crocker Monkeys came from a 10 point deficit at quarter time to dominate the 2nd and 3rd quarters and get another win on the board for the guppies to start the PL season. Interestingly crockers played a motion offence and JW played an inside box and 1 defence maybe these tactics turned this game in crockers favour.

3. G. Marcipukas (Crockers)- Marcipukas was the hero of the day for crockers despite not being one of the usual dominant forces. He scored 34 points on 13-20 shooting at the 3 spot while harassing 3 steals out of his opponents.

2. G. Sélva (JW City Bulls)- Selva was the best in a losing effort by the Bulls. He totalled 14 boards, 5 assists and 23 points on 9-16 shooting.

1. C. Wing Chun (Crockers)- The Chunstar came up big for the crockers in an interesting battle with his counterpart Selva at the Centre position. Chun had 20 boards, 18 points and 4 assists while hitting 2-2 3's.

Melbourne Goldfish vs. Rampaging Marmots 83 - 81 (35545778)

In the best game of the PL in round one, fishy's boys just got over the line with a go ahead 2 late in the contest. It was a real battle of the Goldfish's outside offence versus the Marmots inside offence. IMO the Goldfish's D just got them over the line in this even though a guppies team dominated the boards for the 2nd game in the round versus a calamari. Also the closeness probably makes this the hardest to vote on...

3. X. Guanzheng (Melb Goldfish)- Xie, a long time star of the Goldfish takes the 3 votes in this matchup with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists.

2. D. Gardner (Marmots)- The gardner is the recipient of the 2 votes in this game with a great double double of 25 points and 20 rebounds narrowly edging out his teammate who also had a massive double double. Dan just squeaked into the 2 votes thanks to his 3 blocks, 3 assists and 2 steals.

1. T. Rice (Marmots)- The marmots also take the 1 vote with Thomas "rice, rice baby" Rice bagging a monster double double of 22 points and 27 rebounds in a narrow losing effort.

Da Fat Boy Slim vs. SASTROOPERS 87 - 78 (35545783)

Da Fat Boy Slim won this battle against Sastroopers and Smeltz with a well balanced lineup and a great 1st quarter which was won 26-14. In the end the Sastroopers with their dominant offence were probably let down by their mediocre OD which was exploited by an outside offence, costing them the game.

3. H. Degao (Da Fat Boy Slim)- Degao was the best for the fat boys's hitting 33 points on 12-23 shooting from PG whilst also dishing out 8 assists. Degao completed his day out by picking up 5 rebounds, 2 blocks and a steal.

2. K. Smeltz (SASTROOPERS)- Who else but Smeltz......Smeltz continued on his vote collecting ways in this game despite his team losing. He had 24 points on 12-22 and 18 rebounds.

1. R. Rendon (Da Fat Boy Slim)- Rendon was the second best for the fat boys hitting 28 points and dishing out 4 assists.

Slam ! vs. Beasts Red 94 - 75 (35545780)

In the last game of the 1st round in the East we had our biggest blowout with Slam winning the battle against the Beasts by 19. Slam gradually ground down the beasts with their good D and tactic of Outside isolation bearing fruit for them.

3. K. Macko (Slam)- Klaudias "Tomacco" Macko was the standout performer in this game for Slam in an even performance by the winner with 5 players in double digits. Macko had 21 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks and a steal in an allround performance at PF.

2. D. Hanping (Beasts Red)- Dong was the best for the Beasts in only 24 minutes he compiled 17 points and 10 rebounds at PF against Macko, Slam's best performer. If only he played more minutes this result may have been closer....

1. Z. Mchich (Slam)- Mchich was almost perfect from the field shooting 7-8 in his 19 point 17 rebound performance

Da Fat Boy Slim vs. Northcote Slammers 94 - 80 ((35545788))

DFBS had control of this game the entire time, and despite Northcote Slammers attempting to mount a comeback in the last quarter, DFBS simply proved too strong to handle.

3. K. Duffill (DFBS) - Duff Duff played exceptionally well with a 16.0 rating for the match despite playing all 48 minutes. Making 70% of his shots and 100% of his free throws resulting in 39 points would have been enough to get him MVP of this match, but the extra 16 rebounds sealed it.

2. R. Rendon (DFBS) - Rendon only played 31 minutes of the game but managed to score 21 points in this time and kept the opposing SG at bay. Combine these points with 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block and 0 turnovers and you have a clear picture of why Rendon was a key player in this game.

1. M. Doherty (NS) - Doherty was Northcote's top scorer with 22 points and almost achieved the elusive triple double with 9 rebounds and 9 assists!

Chelsea Seagulls vs. Melbourne Goldfish 97 - 111 ((35545784))

These great teammates and friends decided to follow their usual tradition of playing Run and Gun and Full Court Press, and while the final result may have been hard to predict after the first quarter, by half time the Goldfish had obtained a formidable lead that they managed to hold on to for the remainder of the match.

3. X. Guanzheng (MG) - Fishy's main man was quite clearly the man of the match with an impressive 33 points and 10 assists. Xie would even have had a good shooting percentage if it wasn't for the ridiculous amount of missed 3 pointers!!!

2. R. Forbes (CS) - Forbes was a key player for the Seagull's tonight with his 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in only 39 minutes!!! If that is not impressive enough, then it is also important to realise that during his 39 minute stint on the court, the Seagull's scored the exact number of points as Fishy! So it was only in the 9 minutes of the game that Forbes wasn't on the court that determined the winner of this game between two long time rivals and friends.

1. A. Di Nunno (MG) - Di Nunno was quite spectacular on the court on this starry night with fans cheering as he scored 24 points with over 50% efficiency! Despite his inability to hold on to the ball for too long, illustrated by his 7 turnovers, he redeemed his efforts with 15 rebounds.

Sorry for the delay guys, but finally finished exams!

SASTROOPERS vs. JW City Bulls 88 - 27 ((35545789))

Absolute annihalation by SAS. JW's players are going to be quite demoralised for some time! Playing a 2-3 zone against a Motion offence didn't help either ;)

3. K. Smeltz (SAS) - 18 points, 16 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 0 turnovers, 0 fouls and a 16.0 rating after playing 31 minutes, is there any doubt in anyone's mind that this guy is an absolute legend? A fantastic performace.

2. A. Szadkowski (SAS) - Top scorer for the game and also got a decent number of rebounds.

1. G. Finizza (SAS) - 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 12 points in 27 minutes gives him the final MVP point.

Cowboys From Hell vs. Chumunga 92 - 68 ((35545786))

Nice win by my fellow Calamari! To be honest I was expecting a slightly closer match but the Cowboys proved they were the superior team and comfortably rode their way to victory!

3. F. Perçin (CFH) - Perçin was the man of the match with an efficient 23 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. His greatest accomplishment though was managing to keep the opposing PG to an abysmal 2 from 12.

2. T. Bessarab (C) - Bessarab performed fantastically for Chumunga in this game and put up some incredible stats, but at the end of the day it wasn't enough to get his team over the line. 33 points and a massive 27 rebounds! Brilliant work.

1. A. Villain (CFH) - Villain wasn't overly spectacular but performed solidly to steal this last MVP point.

CROCKERS vs. Beasts Red 105 - 72 (35545787)

In this round 2 matchup we had one of the favourites for the East - Crockers - take on one of the up and coming teams Beasts Red. Crockers showed his allround team abilites with a Push the Ball tactic versus the Red's Outside Isolation....After a 1st quarter won by the Red's 25-19, Crockers dominated the final 3 quarters to go to 2-0 on the standings.

3. C. Wing Chun (Crockers) - Chun followed up his 1 vote from game one of the PL to pick up the 3 in a best on court performance. Chun shot an excellent 9-13 scoring 22 points whilst picking up 26 rebounds in a dominant win for Crockers.

2. G. Treciakauskas (Crockers) - Gintaras showed he is a big man of the future for crockers pairing up with Chun to dominate the paint. He had 18 points and 19 rebounds in his time on court to showcase his potential.

1. L. Gigliotti (Beasts Red) - Gigliotti "the Gigilo" jiggled his way to the one vote in this game battling the likes of Chun and Treciakauskas for his 19 points and 10 rebounds on the night.

Slam ! vs. Rampaging Marmots 91 - 108 (35545785)

And in the last match of the 2nd round of games Slam took on the Marmots in a battle of similarly balanced teams. Tactically Slam through a PTB with a 2-3 D out whilst Marmots played LI with a MonM D. Ratings wise this game was very close with both teams having pluses and minus's. Marmots however pushed out to a 16 point lead at q time and were never headed....To the votes

3. T. Rice (Marmots) - Thomas "rice rice baby" Rice picked up votes in his 2nd consecutive game with a very efficient performance in this match. He shot 11-15 for 29 points, picked up 3 blocks and 3 steals before fouling out late in the game. He is one to watch out for in this seasons MVP's at this rate.

2. F. Hadice (Slam) - Hadice did what any good volume shooter does and thats get his buckets up! Although not the most efficient performance shooting wise (12-32 for 32 points) Hadice also pulled in 9 boards and 1 block in this losing effort.

1. S. Clune (Marmots) - Clune showed his allround ability at SF for the Marmots in this game shooting efficiently 13-19 for his 29 points whilst also picking up 6 boards and 6 assists in his 37min of court time.

***VOTES APPEALED***

They are now:

3 - O'Daire (Marmots)
2- Rice (Marmots)
1- Clune (Marmots)

And here come the round 3 votes, game one writeup courtesy of naker:

Match of the Week

CROCKERS vs. Rampaging Marmots 101 - 100 (((35545792)))
This was a match between two great teams that resulted in a nailbiting finish! Tactics were a little unusual for both teams in my opinion but the suspense created as a result makes it worth it! This tantalising battle between these two juggernauts remained close the entire match, and as they exchanged blow for blow they found themselves tied entering the infamous last quarter! The scores were tied with 1 second remaining on the clock but a shooting foul at the very last second gave Crockers two free attempts to win the match. Just to keep the suspense up Crocker's player missed the first free throw which caused a thunderous roar of excitement from the Marmots' fans, but as Crocker's player readied himself for his second free throw he blocked out the noise, concentrated, and made the basket that demoralised the Marmots beyond repair. A brilliant game with a photo finish!

3. R. McPhail (C) - McPhail was the top scorer for the match with an efficient 27 points, which combined with 10 rebounds and 6 assists easily makes him the man of this match. His name might be McPhail, but tonight he was McSuccess!

2. T. Rice (RM) - Rice performed fantastically for the Marmots with 22 points and 4 rebounds in only 34 minutes. Shooting with over 80% efficiency it crushed the Marmots when the bribed referees gave him his 6th and final foul causing him to have to leave the court and leave the fate of the match in the hands of his teammates.

1. D. Gardner (RM) - Gardner was the equal top scorer for the Rampaging Marmots and managed to score 24 points with 60% efficiency, but in addition he managed to get 22 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals making him the worthy recipient of this final MVP point.

JW City Bulls vs. Northcote Slammers 93 - 99 (35545795)

In what was a desperate battle of 2 winless teams looking to get on the board, Northcote (Kevin) beat the JW City Bulls (Sharks) in what was a thrilling match decided right down to the final minutes. Both teams played Outside offensive tactics but Northcote's better Defence cancelled out any advantage the bulls had gained as possibly the better offensive teamt to squeek over the line. This game was close throughout with Northcote turning back a 2 point 3q time deficit to win the last quarter 39-31.

3. P. Masetti (Northcote) - Masetti was the MVP of this matchup scoring 30 points on 13-23 shooting whilst pulling in 19 boards. Masetti is showing his vote catching performances in last seasons Outcast league were no fluke.

2. J. Kent (JW City Bulls) - Mr Kent was the shining light at PG for the Bulls dishing out 7 assists with only 1 TO and also scoring 28 points with 8-9 FT. he also chipped in 3 steals and 3 blocks.

1. D. Polglase (Northcote) - Another familiar face from the Outcasts PL of last season bobbed up for the 1 vote in this game. Polglase scored 22 points and had 21 rebounds in a big double double.

Da Fat Boy Slim vs. Chumunga 79 - 57 (35545793)

In what was another dismal display from Chumunga in a challenging season so far from the team the put up a pathetic 57 points in a low scoring match versus DFBS. DFBS showed great inside stats both defensively and offensively and Chumunga's 3-2 against an inside offence proved fatal in this one dominated from start to finish by DFBS.

3. K. Duffill (DFBS) - Duff man showed he aint no $2 pussy versing Chumunga's bigmen in a dominant performance deserving of 3 votes. He had 30 points and 13 rebounds shooting a respectable 12-16 from the field. He even had time to be subbed off 3min from the end to do 3 minutes worth of Duffman pelvic thrusts on the sideline such was his energy....

2. R. Rendon (DFBS) - Rendon was a model citizen at SG in this game, whilst his stats dont look dominant (14 points on 7-13, 6 reb, 3 assists) he was the 2nd best player on court.

1. T. Bessarab (Chumunga) - Bessarab just pips his bigman partner Kuzel for the 1 vote from the game. He had a 20-20 game whilst also picking up 3 steals and 2 blocks.

3 more games to do ill finish them monday....
