If you're training other guards sure. He still has a few pops in him

I have a similarly-aged player and agree. It is a great idea to train him. I would focus on OD for now and maybe some passing. His inside D is too low to ever be a useful SG. If you get his passing and outside D up 4-5 pops, he can be a really good PG.

i think he has a good future ahead of him. primarily train his OD, secondarily his JR and DR if your planning him to be a SG. Good DR can make him score more and make his FG% better.

training players is always worth it.

even if you don't see pops, they still improve, and improved skills are always better.

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

this is interesting... are you saying if you train a player in jumpshot and they do not pop, they still improve a little in that attribute? i always thought this but never had anyone confirm it.

Still "improving" is not necessarily worth it. If a player has hit his (soft) cap or is kind of old for a trainee he may still improve somewhat. But with such a slow pace that it would be much more worth it to get a new (younger, not capped) trainee.
I think if it takes 10 weeks to see a pop its not really worth it anymore.

Yeah. Every skill has a sub level that we can't see. So, if you train jumpshot and it doesn't pop, that player still has an improved jumpshot than the week before. But, as said before, if the player has reached his soft cap, it's probably better to get a younger trainee that still has room to grow
