Purchased him today for just over $400k... I'm in div 4, looking to promote to div 3 next season. Is he a decent pick up for a team looking to break into div 3?

looks ace

lots of training in him, by end of next season he could be triple trem as well as having a bit of js - but will be hard to afford on a d4 salary

if i was you for the next few weeks until the end of the season try to train secondaries so his wages dont get too high - but also use him to win d4 if you can - you should win d4 in your first season easy

Decent for D4 but I'd look to increase his ID to be at least on par with his IS

You are 19-0 I would say win your last 3 games and you are 100% certain to be promoted no mater what happens in the playoffs. That player can be division II standard by the end of next season, in fact he is division II backup standard right now. Monkey is right, just slam the inside defence single position training at least 48+ per week for the rest of the season and he will be fantastic. But if you are worried about salaries in weeks when you are CERTAIN you will win every game you can play him 48+ in the scrimmage at PG and get the passing up. I like my big men to be able to pass.

So if you play him as backup one game and 48+ in the other he should also have perfect GS for the playoffs when you need him.

lol anyone can be D2 backup... I have a 9k C.... his secondaries are pretty bad... JS without JR I dont like that one bit since players will take shots out of the range more often, no passing for a C (TO prone), OD is low so cant really stop a shooter at PF either, DR is the only good secondary...

he will have to be a monoskilled C though at the age of 21 already (nearly 22), 1 or 2 more season of training? 22 = 1 pos 2.5 week to pop, 23 = 1 pos 3 week. in inside skills... triple tremendous without secondaries is not a good C... but he will be a good C for a D3 team just that 400k might be a bit much for a guy that will maybe worth 800k when finished training....

btw you dont need anyone at all to promote, the whole league is filled with bots. the only way you wouldnt promote is if there is another active player in there. how hard is it to train up some 18 years old? they would have dominated the bots by now in just one season... also I dont get it, if your training guards... why are you getting a big man who is nearly done training due to his age.

Uh, where is my post did I say I was planning on training this guy? I bought him as a starting C/PF for when I promote.

I have my guard trainees already who are 18 and 19 years old. This guy might get a bit of training in the "guard skills", but not at the expense of my trainees... and that had nothing to do with my decision to buy him.

I say if you are training guards or bigs it doesn't matter. Just slip him into the three when you get the chance and leave out whoever is the worst. He is going to be great for you but just a couple of improvements and he will be a division III dominator.
