Congratulations Direwolf newly reelelected NT coach for the next 2 seasons. Bit surprised by the low voter turnout 2 seasons ago there were 137 people who voted while only 33 voted this time. Hope it isn't a sign of a lack of interest. Well done to Greggy D for coming 2nd. There was a third candidate but either his name got left off the ballot paper or he is incredibly unpopular as only 2 candidates received votes.

probably not as much banter on here about it so people didn't get inspired to vote.

I voted but like everyone felt like there was no point.

The basic formula for determining whether someone will vote is

PB + D > C

Here, P is the probability that an individual's vote will affect the outcome of an election, and B is the perceived benefit that would be received if that person's favored political party or candidate were elected. D originally stood for democracy or civic duty, but today represents any social or personal gratification an individual gets from voting. C is the time, effort, and financial cost involved in voting. Since P is virtually zero in most elections, PB is also near zero, and D is thus the most important element in motivating people to vote. For a person to vote, these factors must outweigh C.

In this election while C was low, P = 0, B = 0 and D is very little.

But well done to the Winner!

Democarcy works precicely because of this. If there is someone really bad and it will make a big difference to you to get rid of them then there will be a high voter turnout. Democracy doesn't always get the best people in but it usually keeps the worst people out.
