Just wondering if now is a bad time to be trying to sell players?

Ive been trying to flog a few of my excess players for weeks now, and have had no bites, in spite of listing them at various prices.
At the moment ive got the players priced at what i would call 'reasonable' prices. Does anyone have any comments regarding this?

This thread may be construed by moderators as a transfer ad so don't be shocked if it gets locked.

The players you have listed are useless. They are almost all worse than the 12th best player that a new team starts with so there is little reason for anyone to buy them.
At that level/price range whether or not they sell is almost entirely dependent on luck since the only people who would buy players like that are people looking to pick up the cheapest available option in order to balance out weekly minutes. If a player is worth less than $5k you're probably better off just firing them rather than eating their salary for a few weeks until you find a buyer and wrecking your fan survey by relisting them numerous times.

Agreed - just fire them and that will save you 15k a week which is all you are asking anyway - probably not the answer you wanted but holding onto them is more costly and if they arent getting a game for you then with respect they arent likely to get a game elsewhere....taking the example 1 stage further, one guy is in inept GS.... how is he going to attract a buyer? Just sell and bank the money you wouldve spent on their wages.

Anyway, the question remains, whether or not the prices are going down constantly, which is my personal impression. At least in the range of 1 - 2 Mio. $ players, which I was searching for for some time.

I don't think it's a bad time. If there is any "bad time" for selling players in BB that would be after the playoff deadline, but I've seen decent transfers even in that period. IMO, there are 3 good periods for selling in a BB season: a) at the start of the season, b) the weeks between the 1/8 finals - Finals in the National Tournament, and c) the week before the playoff deadline. Of course, you need to learn what people want to buy. Checking the TL from time to time is not a bad thing to do. Firing unwanted low salary players is also an option and sometimes, for players with <3k salary, or players 26+ years with <4k salary, it is even the better option.

Cool thanks everyone for commenting on that, thank you too chris902 for pointing out that this thread my get locked, i didnt think of that until after id posted. But good to know.

My initial post was probably not clear enough, i probably wanted the focus of this to be more about the Trasfer market right now, not neccassarily about my players. So apologies for not making that more clear. In saying all that, firing IS probably a better option in some of these cases.

My question was raised out of two things that i have noticed lately,

A) just recently bought a very good player, for a very good price (IMO) but also noticed that other good players are selling for cheaper than usual prices in the last 2-3 weeks. This echoes your comments Thunder Dan
And B) Ive sold players previous, who were on par with their skill set as to my current players who are for sale, and they never took long to sell. So someone IS in fact buying these players, at some stage or another. And some of the players ive sold/selling, ahve had multiple buyers. Newbies? People who want a specific skill option such as higher outside D? Not sure.

Commenting further to that, as a general point of discussion which may in fact be slightly off-topic, i wonder if the new drafting system is making people stash more money aside for drafting, hence less money for buying players, and if i remember my economics 101, less buyers is driving prices down..... ??

Really? I'm leaning the other way, I want to have points to play with in the new draft system. What's the use in having a new toy if you don't spend a little time to play with it and find out what it can do?
