I friggin' can't believe I'm still in Div IV this year, looking at all the crappy teams in Div III....

That said, anyone who's new to this game and would like some help (with the caveat that I'm in Div IV in my fourth season), feel free to send me a mail. If you're just getting started, this game is great - more suited to those who are in for the long haul than those who want instant gratification.

Good luck this year.

The draft is apparently going to be different this year than it has in the past, I don't think anybody knows exactly how it's going to work. We are supposed to be able to see the draft class sometime after the all-star game, which happens this next week. Check out the forums for details, and also on draft strategies.

Personally, I put 20,000 a week into scouting, although lots of people will tell you to only put in 10,000 per week. I think 40,000 is a waste of time. Bascially, if you invest more money, you'll have better information, which will allow you to make a smarter pick. The higher you finish in the league, the later you will pick, but in Div IV you still have a chance to get a good player because many of the teams at the bottom don't have active managers (ie the computer will pick for them and traditionally the computer picks dumb). I think with the new system it'll be harder to both finish at the top of your league and get a good pick, but we'll have to see.

Hope that's somewhat helpful.

I was just looking at your team, and you should consider picking up a couple of cheap young (ie 18-20) players to train this year. Your players are all pretty old, so you won't get much benefit from training them. If you pick up a couple young guys, even if you don't plan on keeping them next year, you'll still probably be able to sell them for more than you paid and make some cash.
