I am not wrong, neither under effect of excess of celebrations after having conquered the first official trophy in South Africa showcase. We are also not defocusing from The Match, incoming semifinal against Nigeria. But it is time to share with you something we did in last few weeks overseeing next season.

I wish to share with you what went well and what will be improved in our scouting system, and what you can expect over next seasons.

First of all, how will South Africa looks like next season?

We will start from a solid backbone of players. We will say goodbay to Magubane, Collombon, Burr, Mofokeng, Grumede, Teka, Sehularo, that is half of our current roster. Not too much in fact. We will have a solid basis to start from.

Our leader will be Juggie Wagana, hoping that new manager will keep him well trained. To me, he has big chances to enter NT in the future. The other top player will be Jorg Schartner, who is currently proceeding on the right direction. Dingane Kolane will be another key player, if new manager will focus his training on actually relevant skills after last few weeks of... holidays. Rabutla, Issa and Mtolo will give us a pack of tall men superior to this season's starting one. We will have to work a lot on guards, as Resha is good requires some hard work, and Neimand will probably not part of the team till his skills growth will be better focused and not dispersed (somehow good for the team, not for U21).

This is the core of our team at the beginning of the season. Beyond them, there are several emerging players that could bring value to our team. I will have to check again all skills as soon as our season will be over, as not all managers are providing their players' skills on regular basis.

Tall men: Machungo (20) and Mauley (20) could be added to the roster if intensively trained. 19's are growing well: apart of Rabutla, Mahabane and Chisiza require intensive monorole but are on the right path. Lbvolu (18) is another promising talent that could be useful at the end of the season (in the case, for a long time).

Guards: I will give an interested look at Kadzamira, Mthebe, Adam, while Rushere could be interesting over the season but is a step beyond (20 all). Among youngers, they are either too low skilled or without updated information. This is also the effect of sharper focus on C/PF over last few weeks to close some big gaps we had, and of former seasons' drafts. I am not worried, but much work will wait for my staff and me.

If you have any talent, just drop a bbmail to me. It will help me to speed up next weeks selection and review.

And have a good draft!

I already gave you some preliminary indications about next season's roster. I can be now be more precise. As you could have noticed, I checked all the players in the db in these days, and I have an updated situation about all of them.

C/PF (age next season, if not 21)
Juggie Wagana: he was our delusion in semifinal, but he is still our top talent - on sale by the way!
Jabulani Mtolo: already part of the team at the end of last season, probably the other starter
Chaka Rabutla (20): another from S12, some secondaries, he will be with us

Diliza Issa: after transfer, his training program restarted and is proceeding quite well. He needs adjustment at shooting, but I am confident he will be back with us
Changa Mahabane (20): very good secondaries, but primaries require major adjustement in defense. Only as specialist.

Jabulani Machungo: he requires much work on ID and RB.
Matsimela Tjale (20): much work on all primaries
Junaid Basinyi: if he will work a lot on IS, ID is good already, and there are quite good secondaries for a C
Laurent Bernard (20): I am following him with much interest. Low potential (star), but great arrangement of skills, he could gain a spot. Congratulation to his trainer anyway.
Lulu Lbvolu (19): beware! C with good secondaries, set a good basis for nice development on primaries. He can be our Wagana in next African Cup, if well trained.
Baruti Dingane: high potential, but a lot of work to do, probably too much.

In summary, we will start next season with a situation far better than the beginning of this one. Wagana has one season of intensive training more, and our top five players cannot be compared with our starters last season, although much work is required. Moreover, there are several 20's and one 19, good for SA future.

PG/SG (age next season, if not 21)
Jorg Schartner: our starter in PG role, definitely no doubt. I still think he would deserve more JS to become irresistible, but this is an open discussion with his manager. The hard work done in defense reduced the bad impact of fouls. Great talent.
Dingane Kolane: the third starter with Jorg and Juggie (Wagana). On sale, he would need much JS and some OD (later), the rest is very good right now. He could have a spot in most of U21.
Sabata Resha: precious player with many facets. Still room to grow despite potential "star"

Lefa Kadzamira: we have few if any notice over the season. Now, I found a very good player, that will need some adjustment but could take the SA jersey.
Chipako Mbangwa: when I started scouting him, we decided to make him to grow as PG. Not mature, and far behind Schartner, but could have opportunities, depending where I will deploy Resha. Still work to do. Go on.

Hendrick Adam: some step behind the others, but it is not unlikely that, with much work, he will join the team, as his secondaries could be precious under specific conditions
Themba Mthebe: his growth looks like to proceed at low speed. What a pity. With monorole he has opportunities to join the team.
Duniisai Rusere: defense.
Sifiye Neimand: already discussed. He can be a great player, but his skills are too dispersed to create a value. At least now.
Seretse Netshivhazwaulu (19): apologize pantyhose for my mistyping of name He is the only player with less than 21 years, good potential, and very good skills. Need more primaries than 1v1, and he will be our Schartner on the next mandate.

Kevin Mauley: although 211cm tall, he was trained as SG instead of PF (!). He needs quite intensive training on IS by his new manager, as with it he can be a terrific weapon. At this moment, he cannot have incidence on either side of the court. Very interesting for the NT in the future, where with Wagana he could represent a tremendous pair.

In this case too, we have very good players, two clear talents, and an overall situation much better than one season ago. This is our payback.

However, we have only one player with less than 21 years. He rechecked all that I could, and it looks like to be a bad side effect of drafting system in a country with few managers. So, we must work hard on new generation of draftees, and on players as Gunbase, Tsie, Ellsworth, to reach a minimal set of players for next seasons.

thanks. I hope that Will Burr and later Wagana (not this season!) and Schartner will dress NT jersey. You can tell much on that.

Well about C we have Mncebisi that's best center in NT.But he's not trained because he reach the potential.
About Bird he's still trained and he could become similar to Mncebisi.
Mufamadi has the highest potential and he's still trained so he probably has good chances to become the best Center.

Wagana is the best young center but probably he can stay in your U21 also for the next season (but you decide with new coach)

About Burr I don't know. He has a low potential for inside guys and he maybe could be 4-5 Center of NT.
Also there are Boshoff and Watson but I don't update his skills so I don't know the level

About Schartner I don't know his skills but I believe he has chances: the starter Pg is Beye I have no doubt. After we have Mhlaba and Mbatha. Mhlaba is a good shooter ,he's good passing but I don't like his OD.
About Mbatha I use him as PG only if necessary but I don't like very much is skills as PG
Also we have Mwathiwa that now don't stay in NT but he's still trained and he's also a PG

So I can say for sure that Wagana will go to NT,Schartner and Burr maybe.

The other big problem of NT is that we don't have a real PF.
The only PF is Wan Agt with low REB but he's a little of JS.

So in my opinion the most important thing is a real PF and also new outside guys because in NT there are players very old.And train ,train and train the youngs with high potential.

Thank you Jordan.

I will do my best to keep Wagana for the consolation, and will him with pleasure to NT as soon as my season will be over (I cannot figure out to advance much in consolation).

Schartner will grow, and became as a certain Scalambrieri (8077122) (may be a mentioned him one day or the other ).

Kolane is a great talent as SG with lot of secondaries, only question about training and potential in his future.

In PF, with good training on IS/ID/RB (but not so much on ID) Kevin Mauley can be a devastating PF! Others (Mtolo for instance) can grow, but the "guards" skills of Kevin can make him one of top talents in Africa.

this is the minimum I expect.

After having picked up a decent C that will bring some cash to me, I can look at SA draftees with some serenity

I just finished to check all draftees. News are not so good unfortunately.

Of course, that depends on trainers. I developed "stars" to very good players and with a lot of cash after reaching potential, and I can say that even them could have a chance to enter U21. But figures are figures.

Among 48 draftees, only 12 were above threshold:
- potential star or above
- 3K or higher salary

Six are 19, so their growth will be limited by age.

Distribution is reported below:
- 5 star
- 4 all star
- 1 perennial all star
- 2 superstar

The best picks to me are:
- Kwayera Kaoena (Bleck Stars), 6K+ salary, a lot of red skills, 185 cm... but star only and 19. What a great pity. But he should be well trained or sold, he deserves.
- Mpondombini Lata (Devil Kings), superstar, 18, but probably more a PF than a SG as starting skills. A decision should be taken very soon, to be trained anyway
- Masamba Sephoa (Dreamsters), star, 19, 185cm, a great PF but at the end he is likely to be a SG with secondaries (not bad anyway, apart of age)
- Kefentse Rammupudu (africasouth), 19, 185cm, perennial allstar, I hate his age, not bad but will take some time to mature
- Stoffel Kilngeman (africasouth), star, 19, 206cm, to be grown as Center
- Thembekile Nxu (Jaywalkers), all star, 18, 183cm, he must be grown as PG, although I understand that it is a long story before having him competitive
- somewhat Dingane (pazi outsiders), superstar, 18, 193cm, will take sometime but he must dress this jersey

Other draftees are:
Hondo Tefu (Jaywalker), skills and height and two opposites
Mbongeni Rathebe (kimberly diamants), I don't know what he could be
Jordi Osterman (uchala), train him and you will have a great Center - but he is 188cm....
Thabo Hlalele (AND1 Ballas), lots of patience
Sipliwo Nkabinde (pantyhose), he can became a decent player, may be not so bad

Probably, Fooly Cooly had one of worst draft I have ever seen

I would ask you support. I need it. We need it.

About your players, let me (or the scout you are in contact) know which are your intentions. If you want to sell him, sooner is better. Open to discuss details with each of you.

About others' players, I would appreciate if we could open a direct discussion with their managers (new ones included). As you know, my staff and me put our experience at your service. If managers will not train these players, it will be a great pity. And probably you can talk each other better of what I can do (I am not South African, at the end of the day)

About community, it is clear (unfortunately) that we need more teams, more managers, more draftees. This add excitement and passion to the game, even bringing you to losses (look my end of season...). I am open to support you, but frankly I would not know where to start from to find South Africans interested to join the game, this wonderful game. Any comment, idea, contributions is welcome. I can make you sure that I will support you on them.

Tefu is on the market now.
I think his skills can actually make him a very valuable forward if someone does rebounding training for a season on him. Unfortunately, I am going to be training guards, so he will not be getting any work with me. Nxu will be getting trained though.
