I'm playing a game against an inactive team. The set def + off is base offence & 2 - 3

The team averages about 15 - 17 TO against non FCP defences. and averages awful (medium) for perimeter def and inside def

(for my division that is)
My team is pretty balanced between outside and inside, with a slightly stronger outside game. And in general they have decent OD & ID and I get my share of steals even w/o FCP. My players are all higher waged than his too (I'm told this is how to gauge skill level, with other variables involved of course) Most of my players have resp JR / JS. highest being proficient.

Just wondering what the best way to earn the most points would be.

FCP to force fast turnovers? Then a fast paced outside oriented offence? Or should I opt for something slower and surer?

Run and Gun + FCP
Push the ball + FCP
Motion + FCP

Run and Gun + Man to Man
Push the ball + Man to Man
Motion + Man to Man

any tips for a newbie guys? its my first season and I'd love some pointers on def / off tactics : )

thanks in advance

edit: that should say best way / fastest way in the topic ... ugh @ typo

if your outside shooting is much better then his outside D, I would go with RnG.
that way you will get the fastest tempo, and you will have good looks cause he can't defend

about your D:
FCP is like weaker m2m (no focus) with lower rebounding, you will gain extra steals (sometimes much extra...), and fast tempo
if you can cover his offence on both sides, and have enough rebs with that tactic, go ahead....
just make sure your players have enough stamina

if not, I would prefer m2m for better D and rebs.

i am personally not a big fan, of an fcp my last try was against this to prone team which make a farming season this year
-> (20438408) he normally makes 19 To each game, so this number of steal isn't excellent especially when you consider that i played with OD 13, 16, 12, 10, 7(which also explains a bit that i was totally outrebounded^^). So if you like to force steal, i think 1-3-1 is the better choiche because the number of stela is close to the full court press and you still operate with some defence.

Maybe the other conclusion i would draw out of this game, is playing motion or princeton in offence(ok probadly this was also my opion before it^^), because you don't need that much time to find a good shot.

Playing to your strengths, I would say Motion/Man to Man. The fact that Motion is an outside focused tactic means your shooters should have a nice game against his 2-3 Zone. I'd save the experimentation for scrimmages and private leagues.

Ah thanks for the answers guys :)

Appreciate it.

Jus another question on defence, you know that section:

I want my PG to play defence as PG / SG / SF / C

does this work for all defences? or only man to man / FCP?

this works for all defence, if your PG plays D like a Center in the Zone he mainly get the Job below the basket.
