From the pre-season BB-headlines
We are also looking into increasing the number of offensive and defensive tactical options in the game engine. Because of the complexity of the game engine, we anticipate a long period of testing in which we assess the effect these strategies have on competitive balance and gameplay. We will be working on them over the course of the next season, and if released it will be done first only for non competitive games. Options we are considering include a box-and-one defensive option, and a isolation set offensive option. More information about these tactics would be released at the time we release them for testing.

So we're probably still a little while away from these being implemented in non-competitive games and who knows what the BBs are planning at this point, but I am curious what other people want to see in terms of new options? The box and one is obviously a good addition and iso sets could be interesting, but what else do you think would improve the game?

My suggestions:
- A new inside defense option. Maybe a 1-2-2? (improved inside defense, pressuring passing lanes but giving up contesting outside shots?)
- Pick and Roll offense that requires big men with decent perimeter skills and creates mis-matches on the outside.
- High/low post game which relies heavily on a passing centre.
- Dribble drive offense that favours guards driving into the lane.

Overall I think there needs to be more options to attack and defend in the post and to encourage and reward versatile big men. Of course, I have no idea how exactly the game engine works, so I don't know what is actually doable.

What do other people think?

All those suggestions make sense, I can see Driving becoming a more prominent stat with your suggestions. More intricate zones could also be implemented, along with your 1-2-2, why not a 1-4? We ran that a couple times in my highschool league.

I'd be quite happy to see a box and 1 defence added to the list.

The suggestions/announcement sound good and all but I wouldn't like to see the tactics become insanely complicated. Hopefully the admins or whoever keep that in mind.
