Is there more to making free throws than one would otherwise think? For example I have a player with proficient FT that drives me insane... In fact he shoots even worse than another player with inept FT... hope this won't get too confusing, but compare the following... (mainly focus on "A" & "B" -- also all players are within 1 experience of each other so that shouldn't be much of a factor)
The Players
Player "A" -- proficient FT, strong stamina, & 2nd highest experience of the 4. mainly a backup, (did start him tonight and shot 3-8 btw...)
Player "B" -- inept FT, respectable stamina, & lowest exp. of all. Often plays over 40 min/game as well.
Player "C" -- strong FT, mediocre stamina, & slightly less exp than player A. plays 30 min/ game normally
Player "D" -- sensational FT, strong stamina, & highest exp. of the 4. also a backup, equal min/ game as Player A
Last season's results...
Player A -- 64% FT shooter... to rule out an anomaly the 2 seasons prior he shot 69% & 59% respectively.
Player B -- 68% FT shooter... (when watching games seemed even better in clutch situations and at end of games.)
Player C -- 79% FT shooter... 84% the season prior.
Player D -- 87% FT shooter... 86% the season prior.
My question basically is how do you explain Player A? Clearly fatigue & experience have been ruled out, at least with comparison to "B", "C", & "D"... i've heard about the hidden attribute for physicality that every player has. There couldn't possibly be another hidden factor, could there? Also is this normal for a player with that level of FT? Because the rest of my players (not listed above) all pretty much perform as expected besides him.
EDIT
all players were at strong - proficient game shape all season, excluding week 1 obviously. Only exception was "Player B" (inept FT) that fell to respectable one time from playing too many minutes. "Player A" had consistently the best GS on the team & many weeks had a DMI double that of the other 3.
