Well, since centers are the cheapest, I would buy few more young PFs and Cs, and train the first player... If you want advice, I turned to big men training two seasons ago, and my search criteria was as follows:

Age: 18
Potential: All-Star (minimum)
Height: 206 (minimum)
Inside Def: respectable
Inside Scoring: average
Rebounding: mediocre
Handing: average

Rebounding trains fastest, so I preferred my talents to have solid ID and some Handling, which can be useful against Full Court Press... You can buy 4 players like this for a very low price, and they train pretty fast, so in a couple of seasons, your front line would be pretty strong...

Edit: If you decide to do this, wait for draft to end before you start buying players...

Star can make great PF too. My leading scorer has star potential, but very balanced PF, and the next season will have like 20+k salary. I think that height is more or at least same important as the age. my 7'2 C is poping up much faster than my other 6'11 big men, even if he has the lower potential than them.

Well, potential has nothing to do with the speed of training until you reach the soft cap... Height is important, but the difference between 6'11 and 7'2 is maybe 1 pop per season... If even that...

I didn't say lower potential players can't be useful, I just gave him an advice... He is free to decide on his own...

I disagree about the difference 6'11-7'2. For me its like 2-3 pop ups per year but my sample is very small so maybe i am mistaken

Well, average 18 yo trainee has about 8-10 pops per season, so 2-3 pops is a bit of too much, I guess... But, you might be right... I just think that the height difference must be bigger for 2-3 pop-ups more per season...
