I've only had this team since middle of last season, but I had another team a couple of years ago, and played with that for a few seasons so I know a few tricks.

Hmm, what shall I give away...

The first, basic thing to do is manage game shape and enthusiasm.Try keep all of your starters at the strong-proficient range. This means they have to consistently play 50 - 70 mins every week.

And play 'take it easy' (TIE) more or less always. This increases enthusiasm dramatically, and within a couple of games even with TIE your team will play as if you chose 'normal'.

Very good starting advice. Very few new managers grasp how big a difference Game Shape and Enth make to the teams ability to win, and to win against higher salaried squads.

I didn't get this advice for 2+ seasons, however I have learned to embrace it and use it to my advantage well (I have managed to beat 2 x $220 000+ squads in a row away and home with a $147 000 squad recently) It is a massive advantage.

Another "Gem" is to scout your opposition well and get the Off and Def combinations right, this can avoid surprising losses.

Looking forward, put as much money into your Arena as you can to prepare for Div III.

Generally players can be listed up until the Thursday night (23rd May) before last Sunday of the regular season (26th May).

You can purchase players until that same Sunday night (26th May)

There will be a message next to the player when you go to list telling you the cut off during the last week, also in the Trading List it will tell you if the purchase is eligible to play.

Hope this helps.
