How about combining then into 1 bigger league?

Drastic solution.

It is not easy to do and worse it is not easy to undo if ever one population gets bigger and want its own league. It caused also problems with nationality, NT, languages, timezone, do we merge everyone or per continent ? (all Asia or not ?). Does everyone in those nations want to be merged with other nations ?

It is a solution, but it has many effects before thinking that is the perfect solution.

Precisely.

And other than wolph, the only people calling for this to occur aren't even in micronations.

Sorry, just to clarify. Do you think there is no micronation problem and things are fine as they are or do you think they should implement a different solution (not merging, but something else)?

Before I answer that, could you be clear about what you see as a problem?

But some points anyway...
Nations - as you pointed to - having effectively zero users, is indeed an issue. But *smaller* nations that are relatively stable, have a pretty solid albeit small user base that perform well internationally (Japan is ranked #40, the top two teams are ranked inside the top 200 of all BB)... this is a problem?

I'm speaking specifically about Japan, because that's my experience. I can't go into detail about OTHER nations because I lack the experience/knowledge/whatever about said nations.

I don't particularly care about micronations since I don't play in one (unless they ban 4 users a week for the next 50 weeks). So even if I did see a problem, it's not like it would have a substantial impact on my game experience.

I'm mostly interested in knowing your point of view, since you play in the same nation as Trainerman and have a very different opinion. Can I infer from your answer that you think your nation is fine as it is?

For whom, the bots that play there?

Fair enough. Yes, you can infer that, to a point. I'd *like* more users, but I don't see it as quite the issue that wolph (trainerman) does. I would think that there are lots of other things that could change/be dealt with that are more important than the perceived problem of 'micronations'.

I guess others are not as optimistic as you in terms of boosting the numbers, especially in smaller nations. That said, let's wait until the season's news, you never know, they might have some surprise :)

I didn't say that... I just have no problem with there being a small number of active players in Japan. It's been about the same for several seasons now.

I also don't proclaim to be speaking for other users, but in lieu of their being inactive in discussion, I'm *guessing* they're at least content with the status quo.

I also think another point that NEVER gets discussed is the possibility that an amalgamation of smaller nations might end up in a significantly smaller sum total. Watering down identity might end up with some pretty negative results (which is why I think the BBs have never appeared interested in doing this).
If I were in an *Asia* league, rather than Japan, I do think I'd be less enthused.
