Wat is the point of having a rival?

and also Why does every team have a diffrent rival instead of the same two teams being rivals with each other

Maybe it is a way of having more attendance to a game and thus increasing the revenue for your team in a week. Other than that, I don't know.

It's another variable to make managing minutes, enthusiasm, etc. a bit more challenging and a bit more important.

The result of a game against your rival counts more in the fan survey which helps determine your attendance/merch sales for the coming week. When possible you want to win against a rival even more than in a normal game to try to maximize your finances.
