For the first time in the history of our franchise, we are headed to Ligat Ha'al.
This is an exciting time for all of us, but we want to thank our fans for believing in us. Only two seasons ago, Katyushas was relegated to Div 3, necessitating difficult cuts to the roster and a rebuilding effort. We made a promise that we would return the franchise to its former glory and would remain competitive.
Today we are happy to say that we fulfilled that promise. With our leaner roster, we subsequently won the league to make a Div 2 re-appearance, and within one season, won that as well. We watched our young players improve, saw old veterans retire, and new acquisitions become regular starters to our improving team.
We are aware of the challenges that lie ahead in the Israel's premier division, and will face them with humble honesty as we continue to play our brand of Clutch City-inspired, Katyushas basketball and remember the immortal words of Hakeem Olajuwon:
"Stay humble. Stay hungry."
