Changing of the Guard(s)

3/15/2013 - Cassville Yuck announces the completion of their recent expansion of The Garage.

With this recent expansion to The Garage, The Yuck have clearly laid out their plans for the next several seasons. Player/Manager Christopher Glover had this to say "The Yuck have decided on a long term rebuidling/refocusing project. The slate has been wiped clean, some young new talent has been brought in, and the arena has been significantly upgraded. We hope the upgrades to the arena are enough to carry us all the way back to D2 and with any luck, the NBBA. "It truly feels like a Big Boy arena", proclaimed Joey Waldrop.

The roster was purged of aging stars. Most notably Pedro Gomez. Gomez was signed off the TL at the age of 19 with loads of promise. He not only fulfilled that promise but exceeded every hope the fledgling franchise could wish. Pedro lead the Yuck to D4.36 and D3.10 championships and took the Yuck to the conference semi-finals in D2.1 during Season 22. "We did a lot in my time here with the Yuck. I feel like there is unfinished business. I wish Yuck management would have given this group the opportunity to pursue our dreams and our fans dreams of reaching the NBBA" Pedro exclaimed. Pedro leaves the Yuck as the franchise's greatest player.Appearing in 218 career games he had many notable accomplisments:

points scored - 2,921
3 pt fgs - 276
rebounds -572
assists - 889
steals 264
turnovers 253
blocked shots 194

The selling of Pedro has opened opportunity. The Yuck brought in a young American by the name of David Thomas and a player from Eesti named Kert Alasi. They are full of promise, some say even more than young Pedro when he joined the team. They will be given every opportunity to develop and grow within the Yuck culture.

The Yuck look to demote back down to USA D3 next season. Financially the Yuck will be sitting pretty. They didn't have to purge the entire roster, but instead chose to keep a great foundation for a quick rebuild at the next level. Organizationally it has yet to be determined if they will bottom out at D3 or continue on down to D4 where the young back court will be free to develop without any stresses of winning. When the young pups are ready, management promises to surround them with the talent and resources to make a strong push for the ultimate goal, D1.
