Howdy, I have question about defensive match-ups in coachparrot (CP). Let's say certain player has significantly better defense than other. For example C position has bigger weight in overall ID performance. So why in if I put in defensive match-ups better ID in C position overall ID performance drops?

Make sure no player had more than 48 minutes allocated

Starters have 36 and backup 12. Basically what I wanted to as is maybe in real game changing defensive positions actually lowers overall defense.

Well then team ID shouldn't drop. C contributes the most, PF second and SF third. So if you put the best inside defender to defend C and the second best to defend PF your team rating shouldn't drop.

The other thing I could think of is to try to set minutes 40-8 or 42-6, because with so many minutes to the backups they have an influence on the CP predicted ratings.

Well basically what I did I put best ID in PF and second best in C (as normal positions) and the switched them in defending positions and stat dropped. Goal of this thread was to figure out if changing positions in BB lowers the overall stat even if the defender is better. Thank you for your answer maybe it was the back-up minutes that influenced the stat in the bad way.

If you try with 48 minutes there should be no room for doubt. That said, I've never seen something like this: if you put your best ID to defend C, Coach Parrot will always give you a better team rating.

I still prefer to set the defenders based on match-ups though: best defensive player on the most dangerous player. If it's unclear from scouting or the opponent switches positions a lot, I set the best OD at SG and best ID/RB at C, as this will give you better ratings and better ratings will keep percentages on open shots a little lower.

To be all fair it was PG/SG swap I just wrote C/PF because I didn't want for my opponent to find out. And I definitely remember that GS were the same. so idk. Maybe it was how Lemonshine said the minutes of bench players had big influence on rating.
