I've done my best over the years to suspend logic when it comes to this game, but I have several problems with the way the fan survey works and its effect on attendance.

We'll start with this question: If my survey totals 35.5 points and there are 8 categories, how on earth is my fan satisfaction only 3.5? 35.5/8=4.4375. If there are some hidden qualities that's fine, but it is displayed to look like a math problem with the solution at the bottom.

It isn't a simple formula. Not all categories are treated equally.

That's incorrect because the only category I have that is below a 4.5 in is player familiarity.

I'm not too concerned with the listing on the fan survey. The accuracy of the survey could be just as unstable with a lower level PR staff as the ability to keep the fans engaged.

I am hopeful however that the Fan Survey and/or fan loyalty gets at least a minor overhaul however. We still tend to see hugh swings in fans from game to game. While there might be only 22 league games in a season, that doesn't mean that a road loss by 2 should equal a road loss by 30, and that both should destroy home attendance. Rather than whine much more though, i will just remain hopeful for change to eventually hit that system :)

The only thing that matters is the last league match. You can have won the cup last season, have won 18 games in a row, including TV and rivals, then you lose the 19th match away and next one you'll get a huge drop in your arena attendance. Period.

Attendance is way too erratic, given it's the primary way of getting revenue.

I went through one season with just a couple of losses and swept the playoffs - and got 4/5 for "pleased with team's performance this season." Tough room!

I've got 2.5 for my performance this season. Looks like the fans don't mind a drastic teardown and rebuild as long as you have a player you drafted 15 seasons ago leading the league in scoring.

i too won the cuip, lost in the finals and got a measly 4, sometimes 3.5 rating from fans.
it's absurd how high of a boost newly promoted teams get, and how much it sucks if you break out and not win it all.

anyway, i realized i had just 10 transfers in the last year, and my familiarity rating is 2 balls. granted i did not sell players that were with the team long.

does anyone have a 4 star rating for familiarity, or above, and say how much of an impact it has on the team?

I did until this season, at least. I think that one probably looks at the number of minutes played by your players, and how long the players with the most minutes have been on your team. It may also look at salary as well as minutes or instead of.

The thing I find really funny is the merchandise. Until I bought a close to 150k salary player recently because I had almost that much room to meet the salary floor, my merchandise revenue was nearly double my "real" salary expenses and for some weeks, higher than I had ever had. This was with essentially one 21k salary player and one 12k salary player who were 14 season veterans of my team and a bunch of scrubs I'd either drafted or signed many years ago.

My familiarity rating is 4.5, and it does nothing except help keep the overall rating decent. My merchandise has hovered around 18-20K for 3 seasons, and nothing really seems to help it. I'm missing something.

It is one of the most absurd features of the game.....I have had it drop two points when I sold and end of the bench player that had been with me for half a season......its second only to the cryptic training method that is more complicated than most algorithms, and nearly hieroglyphic to those of us not dedicating 40 hours a week to the game.
