For some reason I was under the impression that one of the perks of facing an opponent that doesn't set a legitimate lineup - since it denies the competitive spirit and fun of a real match - were injury-free training minutes. Unfortunately I had a solid player injured in a walkover this evening. Was wondering if anyone else has faced that issue. Seems pretty sadistic.

Match: (72409501)
Player: (29512799)

I guess it's possible he tripped on his way walking off the court.

Edit: Labeled the links.

I was under the same impression. Given how many fouls are made during the run through of a walk over match, it would seem it should be more likely to see injuries during walkovers, and yet I've not heard of it.

Your player was injured after three minutes but gets 36 minutes in the box score. Nothing about walkovers makes sense, but your game seems worse than most.

To me, that would seem to be a bug.

Unfortunately, injuries are possible during a walkover. I'm not certain the logic behind it, but it's definitely a possibility (well, and obviously it just happened). This topic seems to come up once every few seasons or so. Just terrible luck .

I think your argument there is one of balance, which is the key of any online game. However, I think in this instance you're wrong.

In fact the team that is innocent is being punished in several ways. You don't get the minutes you would from a "proper" game. This negatively affects both game shape and training. There is no positive in getting minutes for training and GS. There simply isn't.

Further, you can get an injury. In a game that isn't even real in the virtual sense. That's a further negative.

Thirdly, you get a win by 50 when you could have won by any score. Three negatives. No positive. No balance.

Injuries in walkovers can only be something that hadn't occurred to the programmer. Its clearly a mistake. Its something that warrants fixing much more than the blank lineup that I remain convinced was an intentional feature.

In a walk over there is no game . So why is there a injury?

In a walk over there is no game. So why players are getting training minutes?

Because if you didn't get training minutes, you'd be punished for someone else forfeiting. So in essence, the answer to your question is the same as the answer to why you shouldn't get injuries in a game that doesn't occur.

I wasn't going to respond to the other EGM, there's no point, but discuss with one, you may as well discuss with two.

So you mean the BBs not changing injuries during walkovers when the people complain about that, going back to the dark times of BB while changing how BLU is working and will work show that injury during WO is a bug and BLU is intentional. That's an interpretation.

How is removing injuries during walkovers going back to the dark times of BB? I don't even know what you mean by the dark times.
I can't really respond to your comment about changing BLU shows injuries are a bug. I didn't say it did.
