This thread is designed to allow managers to discuss specific builds and provide advice for training. Please remember this thread is for Canadian players only, but feel free to post you players build and allow the community to offer assistance.

Do not post players who are on the transfer list it is against the rules.

I will get us started with a trainee of mine. Let me know what you would do with this guy to not only make him a dominant U21 player but more importantly to make him one of Canada's best guards in the near future.

He's a great young player. His driving and passing seems a little lower then his other guard stats so maybe train those up abit.
here's my trainee. He has like no chance for U21 because of his low potential but i would still like to train him to become a good backup for my D3 league. Any advice for training?

Thanks for the input. I agree that both driving and passing will need some work. Right now I am considering focusing on JR and OD to try and push those to elite levels and then come back and focus on some of the quick training skills like passing and driving.

Your player can certainly be a quality player in division II and III. I would suggest training OD for the balance of the season to get his OD to a point that is satisfactory. During this time he may also pop in ID which would be a huge bonus.

Cheers and good luck.

ID, ID and more ID right now. Then some IS. Get them up while he's young. You can probably get ID and IS to 10+ each which will assure him a permanent position in the NT. I know this sounds funny but training SB to 2 might be an idea when he's piggy backing on your 2 SF traiinees, I just have this theory that the difference between 1 and 2 on players skills is massive and may even effect their overall skill. Plus it really sticks out like a sore thumb when you go to transfer them.

You've got 3 trainees I absolutely love, let me know when you get to the position where you have to sell one of them.

Frankly, I am amazed, at your lineup of all Canadian players. That alone must have taken patience and determination. Kudos to you and much success.

The All-Canadian look has been a fast growing trend the past 2-3 seasons.

Even (34032) has been moving that direction

He'll be a terror for U21.

You can't really go wrong training his inside skills. Some kind of balance in his main three would be ideal I guess.

Long-term, I'd recommend getting his OD to a sufficient level. 5 OD to go with his 5 PAS should be acceptable (higher in both obviously being better if it fits your training and team goals). Getting forward one-on-one training would also be nice.

Im focusing on inside skills this season to make U21. Next season is primarily 1 on 1 and rounding out secondaries. Then I'll just pump the inside skills till he caps.

Nice looking player so far and I agree he will be a U21 monster if you keep it up.

Personally I am at a point where I am starting to explore alternate builds, so take my advice with a grain of salt. I agree that adding some OD will be critical I think you need to focus on the big four. It is no longer only three skills needed, shot blocking is very important already and the changes will likely make it even stronger.

So I would suggest straining some SB, OD and ID. Create a defensive nightmare that can stop some of the monsters we see at the U21 and NT level.
