So, we have understood your opinion about JS.

The thread, however, is about the market, even if the person starting it maybe posted an unbalanced player. I also think that the market is particularly low, and there is another thread that emphatically talks about rescuing the game... what do you think about this point?

Someone is suggesting that prices of players will go somewhere close to 10 times the player salary...

Take these two players:


Jump Shot: wondrous Jump Range: proficient
Outside Def.: strong Handling: prolific
Driving: proficient Passing: pitiful
Inside Shot: average Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: awful Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: inept Free Throw: prolific

and


Jump Shot: prominent Jump Range: proficient
Outside Def.: prolific Handling: prolific
Driving: proficient Passing: strong
Inside Shot: average Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: mediocre Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: respectable Free Throw: prolific

Their salaries would be approximately equal, but the second one will vastly outperform the first player. The second player would sell for twice the price of the first one as well. The problem lies in poor training. Nothing wrong with the market.

The market is nothing more than a reflection of the users' willingness to pay x amount for y player. If 187k buys that guy, then that is where the market is at. If managers are hoping to sell players for 4 and 5 million these days, they are being foolish, in my opinion. If you can't sell high, at least you can buy low.

Dude, what do you want me to say, or do? Nash my teeth, whine like a baby, call people names, threaten to give up, etc? That's not constructive at all. I am just being pragmatic. Seriously, if you haven't been able to see that the market has been headed in this direction, then you have to open your eyes a bit more. Players are finally starting to reach maturity, meaning we have 30-34 year old players with great skills flooding the market. At present there are 179 players over 30 with salaries of more than 50k on the TL. In season 7 there were 0. Is that so difficult to understand? There are also the 26-30 year old players who have been trained on long-term plans, and they are amazing also. At present there are 295 26-29 year olds on the market with salaries over 70k. 8-10 seasons ago, when those players were beginning their training, their managers were paying 4-7 million for guys with triple wondrous skills. In season 7 those triple wondrous guys were jaw-droppingly good. Now they have TPEs of 500k-800k.
So you either have to accept that the value of a triple wondrous player isn't what it was several seasons ago, or not. It's completely up to you. I was just giving my opinion of where the market is. I don't have or make enough money to improve my team on the TL, so I am training players for my team, like I have basically always done.

My perception is that you're lecturing, just like you always do. I accept it. I'm taking your perspective: everything is fine... :-)

Sorry if you see it that way. It's just my opinion. No more or less. Take it with three or four grains of salt.

I also notice that I specifically said, "in my opinion." If you don't want to know what people think, don't ask, "what do you think..."

Well what's the problem with this price tag, how much should he sell for ? This player is 32, has been injured for 10 days, mediocre GS before today's update, he is a player for a starting team. Sure, he went for a bit cheap, good for the buyer. Now who in this thread would have bought him ?

The market has crashed out more than a year ago. Prices were too high and still on the rise. The crash was a market correction, today's market is the regular market. Outstanding players are still high-priced, insignificant players are not.

i understand where your going with the JS theory and its a good one. and i know what you mean by defense wins games. thats all ive done this season is focus on getting a better defense after last seasons dissapointment. i had the best offense in the league yet i lost in the semifinals.

so on that note i think his high jump shot could be very useful for D4. i am 100% positive i will promote at the end of the season because no other team can compete with mine in my league. i am trying to build my team NOW so i can compete in D4. i dont want to get to D4 and be relegated the season i get there. i want to be a playoff team the season i get there and hopefully get promoted within a couple seasons. so i thought for the money this is a must. his passing blows but i got other guards and even forwards who all have good passing skills and some even great. plus his OD is a huge improvment from my SF OD now

this in my opinion was an investment for the future and will serve me great for the present.

Because they're not worth more than that.
Correlation of their skills value to their costs (wage) determines their market price.
So, price of the transfer is low because the buyer will pay additional costs (not hidden) caused by monstrous wage of the player.
The higher wage of the player you create the less money will get to your treasure house.
Simple as that.

And they're playing in NT mostly because they're trained in 3 to 4 skills.
