Nota-se as influĆŖncias do espanhol na tua forma de escrever. But I think it's unfair to talk portuguese in an English forum, so I think we should stop it.

It's good to know I'm not alone here xD

While I have absolutely no mathematic proof to back this up I expect that game shape effects all stats.I believe it actually changes the skill values used to calculate the outcome of a game. So a player with 12 rebounding might play as if he has 10 rebounding with mediocre or worse game shape, maybe 13 with proficient game shape.

I've only come to that conclusion based on what I've seen from my own team and the opponents I play against; my players seem to get better at everything as the season progresses and their game shape gets better, both offensively and defensively. My point guards get less turnovers, my bigs block more shots and my shooters seem to take less 20-foot 2 point attempts with 16 seconds left on the shot. Obviously it's not a massive difference, but I have a suspicion game shape affect all stats with the exception of free throws and stamina.

I'd love to do an actual study but I don't have the time to do it right now, with the University course I'm doing. But all's I know is better game shape means better results for your team!

Hi Soel,

As a two week old newbie.. I have to say this is the best post that I have read to help increase in understanding of one the more difficult game facets..I have found enthuisasm is a simiilar difficult concept to first grasp and I am starting to grasp the concepts from reading a number of posts.

Just want to say thanks for this excellent comprehensive game shape post.

Thanks for posting this excellent guide, one of the very best I`ve read so far.

Although I`m a newbie this season my managment of gameshape is pretty good. My starters play in the two league games with their backups coming in off the bench then in my scrimmage games the backups start and the starters come off the bench.

Just one question. Does not playing players effect their gameshape, I mean, sy a player doesn`t play for many weeks will his gameshape derease, in effect, does he "loose his sharpness" if he doesn`t play?

Keep up the good work

Glad to hear you enjoyed the guide!

To answer your question - yes. If a player doesn't play at all for any of the three games his minutes for the week will be 0. Any deviation above or below the "ideal" range will have a negative impact to game shape. Because 0 minutes is so far from the ideal range a player will see a sharp drop in game shape. His shape will progressively decline over multiple weeks. Sadly, this goes for injured players, too. If you have a look at my current roster you'll notice that my point guard Zaccanti is on mediocre game shape, after being injured for 2 weeks (just to give you an idea of the rate of decrease he was on strong when he got injured).

Hope that helps and good luck this season!

Thanks for the reply.

And it`s nice to see another "Gallo" fan on here. The free agency can`t come soon enough for us Knicks fans.
