@JA21 Team - We got a major break this week when
#36 Canada forfeited the match with us. Ecuador edged Costa Rica 100-93, so that put us up to 3 wins. That combined with the forfeit penalty which gives up PD consideration in the seedings, propelled us to #3 in Pool A over Canada, who also have 3 wins.
I didn't make any contact or look into what's going on with Canada. If they forfeit again next week, we stay in 3rd if we win or lose. Either way we're in.
We've also made a milestone in reaching
#62 in the world rankings, a team best. We're 1 win away from tying last season's record 4 victories. In the second round we will be one of the lower ranked teams. That means our first match will be against one of the higher ranked squads.
Should be exciting, we'll see what unfolds in this final week of pool play before the elimination tournament begins. Great job, team!
