Statistical support or anecdotal based on your prior teams? It was my understanding that it was more useful in zones than m2m. Also, is there shot vs. sb calculation on outside shots the same way it is used against inside shots.

Or am I completely missing the way the game engine calculates shots being made.

I'm trying to train a 3-2 team. My goal was

PG OD=x SB=x
SG OD=x SB=x
SF OD=x SB=x
PF ID=x SB=x
C ID=x SB=x

The idea is no weak link in the zone and lots of missed shots.

Great defensively or wasted on perimeter SB that could have been more OD.

Grabby, 2 Seasons ago I had a German U21 national Team that was made for 3-2. Your bigmen has some problems with own offense, because they need very high shot blocking.

The main skills, that a 3-2 Zone works:

PG (OD) = SG (OD) = SF (OD)!
If you have for example PG 20, SG 20 and SF 10 your opponents best shooter will only take shots against your SF. So it will be nice to see PG=SG=SF!

PF(ID)=C(ID)=C(SB)=PF(SB)!

Your bigmen are waiting under the basket to start their blockparty. I think ID 16 and SB 16 are great starts. If you have that much shot blocking, you dont need so much rebounding. maybe 14-15...

---------------------------------

- Your Outside Player dont need ID, they dont come under your basket. Its the job of your bigs to protect it.
- SB is for outside player ok, but better when they come to the basket and block them from behind. You will never see a shot blocked 3pt shot... It really doesnt make sense to have sb on pg sg and sf in a 3-2 zone.

If you see it like this, you need every player with every skill. I saw in a LI a Bigman shooting a 3pt... Everything happened in this game but it is a question if you really need JR on bigman while playing LI, or you better concentrate on other skills. I will never say: "hmmm i dont buy this guard, he has to low SB"... And to train SB or ID when I play 3-2 Zone is another criterium. I think its more efficent when you focus on more important skills like OD or JS on guards and ID/SB on Center...

Yeah, there are some blocks vs. 3ptrs. Like most of the BB users know, I like SB even my guards have it. It doesn't occur a lot, but there are games where my SB 7+ guards block the shot. Interessting point: most of the time it is a blocked 3pt at the end of the 24 sec. If I had to guess, it's because of the pressure to shoot and the opponent takes a bad shot. So it's easier to block.

E. Logan (H) rotates over and alters his shot. Shot blocked.

WHO ELSE?! He was trained in the holy and mighty halls of the SB heaven in the depths of the Black Forest. His mentor was no other then the God of Defense himself. So, yeah... peace of cake for Ethan Logan
btw. nice to see that you take good care of my little boy ^^
