Hello all!

I'm very happy to open the S35 thread.

First of all, I would like to publicly thank the only manager that voted me. Thanks to him, I've been elected as South Africa NT coach, and I'm very excited about this new challenge.

This season, we'll host the continental tournament. That will give us a very interesting bonus. So we'll have only one objective: fighting for Gold Medal.
I don't announce we'll win the tournament. Because there are very strong teams against us. Even if first rosters are not frozen yet, I think there are 4 teams that will be very dangerous: Senegal, Nigeria, Al Jazair and Misr. The first games will give us more ideas about a possible hierarchy.

About our team, I've been positively surprised by the players I could find. There are some interesting skillsets. I still have to finish to check all the past drafts, so maybe I could find an unknow nugget! Who knows? :p
Anyway, the key for us will be: GAME SHAPES. If we'll have too many players out of good game shape, it will be quite hard to fight.

I also want to speak about the future. It will be very important to have a pool of young players so we could develop our national teams.
That means I ask all south-african managers to sell their young players if they don't want to train them efficiently. I'll contact everybody to inform them that we need help even if they are not so much active.
Actually, the first seasons of the players' trainings are the most important. Younger a player is, faster he will progress.

If someone needs help or advices, feel free to ask, I'll be very happy to help.

On friday, I'll clean the roster. On sunday, I'll call the first roster. On monday, we'll start the tournament against Senegal.

I'm very proud to start this new constructive era!

Go South Africa!

Today starts the tournament!

We'll play against one of the main favorite, Senegal. Whatever will be the result, it will not be significant. This is the start of the season, enth and game shapes are very low, so we'll not conclude anything after this first game.

I finished the database and contacted managers that own interesting players. The feedback has been very good, around 90% of answers for foreigners and for the moment 2/6 for S.A managers.

We are able to build a decent team this season. But we'll have some troubles in the future. We only have 3 players between 22 and 26 y.old, so I'm afraid we'll have a dark period in a few seasons.

I selected 12 players for this first game. We have 3-4 other players that could enter later in the season. But I'll call them only if I'll need them. I think it's better to let some free spots in case we'll have to save some interesting players from botification.

Here are the 12 players of this intial roster:

Gary Gulch: 32 y.old, 111 NT games
Willy Hijdra: 33 y.old, 92 NT games
Fikile Lekoelea: 34 y.old, 134 NT games
Seelan Masilela: 30 y.old, 14 NT games
Mahluli Ngoma: 28 y.old, 0 NT game
Moyo Mwakangale: 29 y.old, 46 NT games
Themba Sebe: 34 y.old, 128 NT games
Simangaliso Mahlasela: 29 y.old, 2 NT games
Sekgoma Lekgwathi: 25 y.old, 0 NT game
Inaani Hlomelang: 33 y.old, 57 NT games
Nonceba Legodi: 32 .old, 76 NT games
Mabhoko Cebekhului: 27 y.old, 31 NT games

I'll probably be on the chatbox during the live, hope to see some people there!

Go South Africa!

Well, we started the competition with an amazing win against Senegal. (37775)

They put more effort than us, they had a good GDP but we won by 10 points. Thanks to HCA, obviously, but I really didn't expect that.
As I said this afternoon in my preview, we won't draw any conclusions after this game. First games of the season are hard to analyse properly.

We were 3 on the live, CaptainTeemo, UcanUwill (Gary Gulch's manager from Lituania) and myself, and we spent a good moment. Hope we'll be more and more. :p

My Top 3 of the game:

- Fikile Lekoelea: His shoot choices were very good, he gave us all his experience.
- Gary Gulch: Very nice game, he played his PG role perfectly with 10 assists and not too many shoots.
- Inaani Hlomelang: Very efficient center. 16 points with 7/8 and 4 OR in 24 minutes, that's more than I expected.

Other results:

- Quiet win for Al-Jazair against Tounes. (37776)
- Al-Maghrib used Crunch Time to win against Nigeria. (37777)
- Misr destroyed Ghana. (37778)

Results and standings can be found here: (http://www.buzzerbeater.com/world/standings.aspx?teamid=6...)

Next week, we'll play against Ghana that had huge problems tonight. We'll clearly be favourites, but we'll have to be really serious to get a second win in a row.

Yesterday we won our 2nd game in the competition against Ghana. (37779)

Not much to say about this game. We'll only remember the win. I made some kind of tests during this game, and I picked some informations that will be useful for the future. I hope so.

We had a new player for this game: Thoibo Toivo from Flood Malawi. His manager is not active anymore, he only log in once per month, but as his team is out of cup now, Toivo's minutes should be very good starting from now. So his game shape should be good all season long. His performance yesterday has been very ugly, but I'm sure he will have a positive impact during the season.

My Top 3 of the game:

Willy Hijdra: Coming from the bench, he only played 19 minutes but his performance has been almost perfect.

Nonceba Legodi: A decent offensive performance, combined with rebounds and good defense.

Themba Sebe: Our old SF has been solid: 15 pts at 50%, 7 Rbds, 6 Ass.

Other results:

- Another impressive win for Misr against Al Maghrib. (37780)
- Second Crunch Time in Nigeria's face. Tounes is guilty. (37781)
- Al Jazair won against Senegal after a very interesting game. (37782)

Standings are here: (http://www.buzzerbeater.com/world/standings.aspx?teamid=6...)

3 teams with 2-0.

Next week:

- We'll play against Al Maghrib that played CT his first game and has been humiliated by Misr yesterday.
- Misr will play Tounes that just gave CT. Impressive win will come.
- Al Jazair will play against Ghana and should win.
- Senegal vs Nigeria will probably be a very interesting close game.

Hello all,

Sorry that I didn't communicate that much in the last weeks. Work, family and summer activities, my internet time is quite small in this period.

Anyway, be sure that my short BB-time is dedicated to South Africa. With my personal teams, I only set line-up to manage training.

We won 2 more games. An easy one vs Al Maghrib (37783) and a close one against Tounes that gave CT (37788)

We are on the road to semi-final with Al Jazair and Misr. The 4th place will probably be a fight between Nigeria and Senegal, that were my main favourites before the tournament. It seems I should never register on a prono website, because I could lose a lot of money. :p

We have some troubles with our outside zone. 2 players are injured: Moyo Mwakangale and Mahluli Ngoma. Another one got some downs.
I would have prefered to not have seen injuries this season, but it's better to get them now than at the end of the season. The 2 players will probably be back in good game shape during second round.
Then we'll have to pray that everything will go well. Our bench is not deep at all and we need all our strengths if we want to get the title.

Next monday it will be a very good test against Misr that is very impressive. We'll get some useful informations about our chances.

Go South Africa!
