Okay, I know it is related to skill and game shape. However, could we estimate the impact of each attribute behind DMI?

At the beginning of every season, game shape was re-set to respectable (7) and salary was re-calculated. Could we record the salary and DMI to estimate the players' attributes? Such as secondary attributes (say OD/driving for big men, IS/SB for short guys)...

Currently, the ratio of DMI and the salary is approximate 3.6~4.9 for my team. How about your team? Could anyone of you try to interpret the meaning of such ratio?

Or it's just meaningless, huh?

I never looked the DMI of my players, I feel it's useless..

This is where we hold them!

"Deliberately Misleading Index."

Sort of like an inside joke.

It also incorporates stamina, so it can be very hard to gage.

Yes, I use DMI quite a bit, actually, while scouting my opponents.
Salary becomes less relevant as a gauge as the season progresses due to GS and training efforts.

Could be called "Disturbingly Multi-Faceted Index".

The M doesn't stand for "Misleading", but for "Meaningless".

Okay, I'll buy that.

You also get some representation of what the primary skills of a opponent's player are based on what salary formula is being used for a player. Salary, DMI, and GS are the other real measures you get of your opponents players. DMI does not give you a good read of a player's secondary skills and it is also impacted by ST.

If that's the case, could we estimate the total skill sum by using DMI? Including stamina and FT.

Just my impression. At the beginning of season, if the ratio of DMI / salary is around 4.3, then possibly that PG is a pure PG / C is a pure C; If the ratio is around 4.8, then that PG could be a combo / C could be a PF or C. And a pure SF seems have the ratio of approx 3.8.

Not total skills maybe primary skills but then again a guy with 1 ST and alot of skills might have the same DMI as a guy with 7 ST and less skills.
